An instruction handbook for the original Maid Rite franchise exists, which I was able to study in part few years ago. I reside in Greenville, Ohio, and there has been a Maid Rite franchise here since 1933, according to the company. They have perfected the recipe to the point that there is a line out the door most of the day. The first and most important thing to remember is that there will be NO CATSUP. This is how I go about creating Maid Rites: Approximately 1 pound of ground beef and 1/4 cup finely chopped onion are cooked in 1 cup of water, with the beef crumbled after it has been chopped.
