Subway at Home: Replicate Your Order 100% From Scratch

You have arrived to the following page: Sandwiches Made at Home: Make Your Order From Scratch at Your Own Convenience Since I was a picky child, Subway has been one of the few fast food establishments where I could constantly find something I like eating. Because of the personalization, it is great for someone who does not have an experimental palate and wants to “do things their way.” As an adult, I’m the polar opposite of a fussy eater, yet I still have a craving for turkey on a bed of Italian herb and cheese every now and again.

DIY Copycat Subway Recipes

The turkey on Italian herb and cheese with grated cheddar, iceberg lettuce and mayonnaise was my go-to order when I was a youngster. It was boring and uninspired. Now that I’m an adult (supposedly), I’m less choosy about what I eat and make an effort to include more vegetables in my meals when I dine out. I like to make a “adult” sandwich out of turkey and shredded cheese on iceberg lettuce and cucumbers and red onion on Italian herb bread with light mayonnaise, chipotle southwest, or sweet onion sauce as a spread with a side of pickles.

  • Italian Herb and Cheese Bread
  • Chipotle Southwest Sauce
  • Sweet Onion Sauce
  • Mayonnaise (theirs is different, don’t be mad at me)
  • Italian Herb and Cheese Bread Cookies with white chocolate and macadamia nuts

Vegetable Selection

  • Baby spinach, black olives, cucumbers, green peppers, lettuce, pickles, red onions, tomatoes, and pickled banana peppers are some of the ingredients.

Subway Proteins

  • Black Forest Ham
  • Turkey Breast
  • Cold Cut Combo
  • Steak
  • Italian BMT
  • Meatballs
  • Tuna
  • Black Forest Ham

Other Sauces

  • The following condiments are available: honey mustard, mustard, ranch dressing, savory Caesar dressing, barbecue, buffalo, creamy Italian dressing, and tzatziki dressing.

The Recreation

I knew I wouldn’t be able to replicate the full menu for this series, so I opted to focus on products that don’t have decent or accessible store-bought substitutes for the time being (at least in Canada). All of the veggies (with the exception of the pickled banana peppers) can be purchased at most grocery stores. Only sliced meats, which can be obtained in any deli, are suitable for re-creation as proteins. Personally, I found the “genuine” chicken to be virtually inedible, so I didn’t want to waste my time attempting to replicate it.

However, it should be noted that while many people prefer the basic Italian bread, it may be prepared simply by leaving the Italian Herb and Cheese bread untopped.

The Recipes

This bread is the best of the best. This is a very accurate reproduction (and it includes a more accessible “near enough” recipe to boot!). The following recipe is a must-have if you enjoy Subway Italian Herb and Cheese Bread. If you prefer the typical Italian baguette, simply omit the “topping” step from the recipe.

Chipotle Southwest Sauce

Chipotle Southwest Sauce, second only to mayonnaise in terms of popularity, is a popular condiment in the United States. The recipe for the secret ingredient may be found here.

Sweet Onion Sauce

Sweet Onion Sauce is, in my opinion, vastly underappreciated.

There’s no better way to find out if you like something than to give it a go yourself.

Subway Mayonnaise

This sauce, along with the rest of the sour cream, is underappreciated. If you enjoy it, or if you haven’t tried it yet, you must try the recipe for ithere.

White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cookies

Subway-style cookies are impossible to replicate, but this recipe for white chocolate macadamia nut cookies comes the closest. Instead of paying $0.99 per cookie or $10 per dozen for substandard grocery store cookies, make your own. In less than 30 minutes, you can make your own (and make them better).

  • 8-foot-long loaves
  • 20 slices of Deli Meat
  • 12 slices of Cheese
  • Lettuce
  • Vegetables
  • 12 tablespoons of sauce
  • Bread should be sliced in half lengthwise, with the back of each piece still attached. Open it up and arrange 5 slices of your favorite deli meat along the length of the bread. 3 pieces of cheese should be placed on top. Placing the open sandwich beneath the broiler in your oven will allow the cheese to melt more quickly. Immediately remove the dish from the oven and top with veggies of your choosing – vegetable suggestions that Subway uses are included in the body of the post
  • 3 tablespoons of sauce per sub should be used as a finishing touch. Season with salt, pepper, and oregano, if preferred, before serving. Serve as soon as possible

Hi. It’s me, by the way. I’ve been really busy recently, which has resulted in a shortage of blog updates. Heh, that was a rather dull start; let’s start over from the beginning. Greetings, wonderful individuals! I’ve missed you just as much as I’ve missed the Subway sandwiches I used to have on a regular basis. Okay, maybe I did miss you guys a little more than I should have. ♥ So, Mother’s Day was celebrated last Sunday. We placed an order for Indian food to be delivered. Naan bread, tandoori chicken, and kebabs are among of the options.

  • It was a tiny gathering since we were planning another party for Mom’s birthday on Sunday, which would take place the following day.
  • I’m going to be quite busy starting this weekend and continuing for the next three weeks.
  • Yes, it has come to this: it is time to relocate.
  • The cousin’s wedding is set to take place in June.
  • teambride.
  • In addition to the sweets and chocolates that we want to purchase, I intend to bake cookies, muffins, and brownies for the occasion.
  • God’s blessings on me.

As opposed to Subway, which is not halal certified, the Muslim population in this country typically obtains their subway fix from Malaysia, which is halal and hence readily available.

From Singapore, it would take around 1.5 hours to get there by car.

Whenever I enter the subway system in Malaysia, I always come out with at least 8 subs in my possession.

Despite how simple and convenient it is to get a Subway sandwich, I don’t believe you should go there every day or every other day only to satisfy your hunger.

You simply start with a loaf of bread of your choosing, whether it’s a baguette, a ciabatta, or even the honey oat bread that Subway uses for their sandwiches.

Onions, peppers, and tomatoes would be my first choice for a salad topping.

You may use a mayonnaise drizzle, an onion sauce, or even a vinaigrette to dress your sandwich.

It would take you no more than ten minutes.

If you were me, you would need 60 minutes to complete the task.

The following recipe is something I prepare whenever I want a subway but don’t have the time or resources to travel to Malaysia to have one.

The crunch of the lettuce, the sweetness of the tomatoes, and the ooze of cheese!

The process of creating your own subway sandwich is quite simple, and it allows you to enjoy your sandwich just the way you want it.

  • A 9-grain wheat bread, a 9-grain honey oat bread, an Italian bread, an Italian herb and cheese flatbread
  • 2 Go for the corny route. Cheese is unquestionably one of the most delicious components of any sandwich. When choosing your subs, don’t scrimp on the quality of your choices. Without a doubt, if you happen to come across a cheese that you like better than the ones available at Subway, buy it! It varies from store to store, however depending on where you go, you could come across the following items:
  • The following cheeses are available: American, Monterey cheddar, Feta, Mozzarella, Natural Cheddar, Natural Pepper Jack, Natural Provolone, Natural Swiss
  • Advertisement
  • s3 Satisfy your craving for meat with this dish. Of course, the meat is the most important component of a sub (aside from the vegetarian options available). There are several varieties of cold cuts (as well as some hot cuts) to select from. Aside from the hot options, which include meatballs, steak, chicken teriyaki, and buffalo chicken, the cold meats that you should have on hand for your own subs are as follows:
  • Black Forestham, salami, roast beef, Bologna, pepperoni, tuna salad, bacon
  • 4 Don’t forget about the garnishes. Without the addition of some delectable toppings, no sandwich would be nearly as intriguing as this one. Fresh veggies are essential for making sandwiches, so visit your local farmers market to stock up on the ingredients for your creations. The following are examples of things to look for:
  • Cucumbers, lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, green bell peppers, spinach, banana peppers, jalapenos, olives, and pickles are among the ingredients.
  • 5 Arrange the finishing touches on the table. You’ll need some pretty good sauces to go with your great Subway sandwich to make it a full meal. You may stick to one flavor or experiment with a variety of flavors-the option is yours. Don’t forget to season with salt and pepper, as well as the sauce of your choice. The following sauces are available for purchase:
  • Prepare the finishing touches for your project in step 5. You’ll need some fantastic sauces to go with your delicious Subway sandwich to make it a full meal. The choice is yours: stick to one or experiment with a variety of options. Salt and pepper should be used in addition to the sauce of choice. Sauces such as the following are available for purchase:
  1. 1Try an Italian BMT for a change. To make this sandwich, start with your choice of bread (Italian or Italian herb and cheese are common options for this sandwich), then put slices of hot pepperoni, Genoa salami, and Black Forest ham on top of the bread. If you want to make it with cheese, you may, or you can forgo the formaggio (cheese in Italian) and only use the vegetables. Finish it up with a drizzle of oil and vinegar
  2. 2 Give the Subway Melt a try if you haven’t already. In this sandwich, you’ll find a variety of delectable meats and gooey cheese. Try with the 9-grain wheat and put some slices of ham, turkey, and bacon on top to see how it goes. After that, arrange some pieces of your favorite cheese on top and place the entire thing in the oven for a couple of minutes to melt the cheese. As soon as the sandwich is finished being melted and toasted, top it with some vegetables and your preferred sauce for the finishing touches. With the Meatball Marinara sub, you can have a finger-licking good time. Make some delicious meatballs and serve them with a drizzle of marinara on top. After that, top it with your favorite cheese (mozzarella is usually a fantastic choice) and bake it until the cheese is melted. Delicious! Advertisement
  1. 1Put a large piece of wax paper down on the floor. This will allow for the length of the bread to be accommodated while also preventing any dropped topping from reaching the table (so you can just stick them back on the sub). Lay your bread out on the paper and slice it in half lengthwise so that it opens out like a mouth (to suck up all of those delicious goodies)
  2. 2Lay the meat out on the bread’s ‘top’ so that it forms a’mouth’ shape. Once you’ve opened up your bread, smooth it down so that it stays open for as long as possible. Place the pieces of meat on the portion of the bread that is closest to the top of the panini maker. There is no limit to how much meat you can put on your burger since you’re preparing it at home, and there is no limit to how much you can put on your burger! 3 Spread the meat out so that it completely covers the top of the pan. Place the cheese on top of the layer of meat to finish it off. Subway’s cheese is chopped into triangles, much like their sandwiches. In order to make your dish truly genuine, you should cut the cheese into triangles. Regardless of whether you do this or not, arrange the cheese slices on top of the meat.
  • Make a tessellation with the cheese if you cut them into triangles. This indicates that the slices should be alternated such that they do not overlap.
  • Even if you cut them into triangles, tessellate the cheese before serving. This implies that the slices should be alternated such that they do not overlap.
  • If you want to make your sandwich more manageable, you might want to try splitting it in half.

  • When it comes to lettuce substitutes, spinach leaves are an excellent choice. You are not required to wrap up the sandwich, although you may if you want to! This keeps the goods within while also squishing it a little to ensure that everything stays together better
  • Alternatively, you may use your microwave to melt the cheese instead of the oven. Fresh bread should be sliced through with a serrated knife to avoid squishy results. Add any additional fillings that you desire, even if they are not on the list

While the Subway BMT is now better known as the “Biggest, Messiest, Tastiest,” it was initially known as the “Brooklyn-Manhattan Transit.” The classic subway BMT is made out of Black Forest ham, spicy pepperoni, Genoa salami, and whatever vegetables you want on top of it. For this sandwich dish, we’ve hand-selected the veggies for you to ensure that you receive the best possible taste combination. Onions are a fragrant vegetable with a sweet and spicy flavor that complements a variety of dishes.

  • Smoky and spicy, the roasted jalapeno provides a nice kick to the sandwich and complements it perfectly.
  • The meaty components of the BMT include slices of pepperoni, salami, and ham, among others.
  • This dish may be served warm after being baked in the oven at 350 degrees F for 10 minutes, or you can plate a mouth-watering cold sandwich to keep the fresh tastes of the ingredients from fading.
  • You may also include some chicken or pickles, but we want to maintain the authenticity of a BMT sandwich as much as possible.

Tips and Tricks for makingHomemade Subway Bread:

  • I’ve had a few emails from folks who have told me that they sprayed the exterior of the dough with olive oil or butter immediately before baking, then sprinkled on some Italian seasoning and some Parmesan cheese for a delicious homemade Subway Italian Herb & Cheese bread. I can’t wait to make this for myself
  • This bread froze almost as well as other breads that I’ve tried. It was still soft, but it appeared to be a little drier after being frozen. If you’ve never made dough before, the idea is to add just enough flour to make it soft but not sticky, as described above. Instead of bread, if you use too much flour, you’ll get Subway bricks instead.

Can I still make homemade bread without a stand mixer?

You don’t have a stand mixer? This recipe may be done entirely by hand; however, make sure to knead it for a full 8 minutes before serving. That is a lengthy period of time, but the development of the gluten is important for the bread to be soft.

Can I incorporate whole wheat flour in this bread recipe?

Description

Perfect homemade Subway bread recipe that tastes just like the restaurant’s version. This recipe creates a delicious imitation loaf of Subway bread that can be used for sandwiches in the home kitchen. Scale

Ingredients

  • 1 cup warm water (110 degrees F)
  • 1 tablespoon yeast
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 1/2 to 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup warm water (110 degrees F)

Instructions

  1. Add the water, yeast, sugar, salt, and olive oil to the bowl of your stand mixer and whisk until well combined. Remove from the heat and let aside for 5 minutes. Add 1 cup of flour and beat with a dough hook for 3 to 5 minutes until the dough is smooth. Mix in 1 extra cup of flour until everything is well-combined. To make a soft dough, continue to add the flour a quarter cup at a time until the mixture comes together. The dough should still be stuck to the bottom of the basin, but it should be pulling away from the edges of the bowl. Turn out the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead it until it is smooth and elastic. Allow the dough to rest for approximately 8 minutes total. The dough should be quite soft when it is finished. Form the dough into a ball and place it back in the mixing basin. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and set aside for 30 minutes to enable the dough to rise. Once the dough has risen, turn it out onto a clean surface and divide it into 4 equal halves. Bake the loaves on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a baking mat for 9 to 10 minutes at 350 degrees F (180 degrees C). Repeat the process with the remaining dough. Ensure that there is at least 2 inches between each loaf in the pan. Bread should rise for about an hour after being covered with a greased piece of plastic wrap. The oven should be heated to 350 degrees at some point throughout this time period. The loaves should be baked for 25 minutes at 350°F after they are finished
  2. When they are through baking, massage the tops of the loaves with a stick of butter and cover them with a dish towel to cool. Set aside for at least 30 minutes before cutting the loaves in half and assembling your favorite sandwich fillings on the inside.

Notes

Avoid skipping the steps of rubbing the loaves with butter and covering them with a towel to cool since doing so helps to keep the loaves moist and deliciously tender. Directions

  1. Toss the green pepper and onion with the oil in a large mixing basin. Heavy-duty foil (double thickness) should be used for this (about 12 in. square). Wrap the veggies in aluminum foil and seal securely. Grill, covered, over medium-high heat for 12-15 minutes, or until vegetables are tender

Salad dressing should be brushed across the cut edges of the loaf before placing it cut side down on the grill. Over medium heat, grill the bottom of the loaf uncovered for 3-5 minutes, or until golden brown. Place the bottom of the loaf on a double thickness of heavy-duty aluminum foil (about 18 in. x 12 in.). Stack the turkey, two Swiss cheese slices, ham, cheddar cheese, pastrami, and the remaining Swiss cheese on top of each other in a single layer. Put on top of the filling the green pepper combination and pickles. Drizzle any remaining dressing over the cut side of the bread and set it on top of the filling as well. Additional oil should be brushed onto the bread. Wrap the sandwich with aluminum foil and seal it securely. Grill, covered, over medium heat for 4-8 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the bread is golden brown. With a serrated knife, cut the meat into slices

How to Make a Subway Sandwich

Sarah Vantassel is a freelance photographer for Demand Media. Don’t get stuck in a rut with subs; they’re adaptable enough to be eaten every day for lunch as well as a quick and easy supper for a large group of individuals. According to What’s Cooking America, submarine sandwiches have been a staple of American cuisine since the early twentieth century. Keeping up with the trend is mostly a matter of stocking up on and combining a range of fresh components in the right quantities.

Slicing the Bread

In Demand Media, a photograph by Sarah Vantassel Make sure you don’t get stuck eating subs every day for lunch; they’re adaptable enough to serve as a quick and simple supper for a large group of people. Submarine sandwiches have been enjoyed by Americans since the early 1900s, according to What’s Cooking America. Continued success is mostly dependent on storing up on and constructing a diverse array of fresh components.

Adding Meat and Cheese

Sarah Vantassel is a freelance photographer for Demand Media. The meat pieces can be arranged in whatever order or combination you like on the top of the pie. Ham, turkey, roast beef, salami or bologna, and/or chicken are all good options. Layer the cheese on top of the meat, either grated or in slices, and bake until the cheese has melted.

Cheddar, mozzarella, Swiss, provolone, pepper jack, American, and Monterey Jack cheeses, as well as a combination of any of them, are available as options. Place the open-faced sandwich under the broiler for a few minutes, or until the cheese melts, if you want your subway toasted.

Layering the Vegetables

Sarah Vantassel is a freelance photographer for Demand Media. Fill in the gaps between the cheese slices with whichever veggies you like: sliced peppers, tomatoes, red onions, cucumbers, olives, and/or pickles; or a mixture of all of the aforementioned items. In order to slice a bell pepper, first slice off the top and then remove the core, which should include the seeds. Slice the pepper into thin rings using a chef’s knife or a mandolin, depending on your preference. Remove the skin from both ends of a red onion and cut the onion in half to thinly slice it after removing the skin from both ends.

Choosing the Condiments

Sarah Vantassel is a freelance photographer for Demand Media. Spread the desired combination of condiments on the top piece of bread, including mayonnaise, mustard, ranch dressing, olive oil and vinegar, such as white or red wine vinegar, apple cider vinegar, or lemon juice, Italian dressing, Caesar salad dressing, barbecue sauce, or tzatziki cucumber sauce, on the bottom piece of bread. In order to make Tzatziki sauce, you’ll need a mixture of greek yogurt, salt, finely chopped cucumber, minced garlic, lemon juice, and fresh dill.

Subway Bread Recipe (Deli Roll + Italian) – Milk and Pop

This Subway Bread imitation is ideal for making sandwiches since it tastes exactly like the original! Bake it simple, or top it with parmesan and oregano for an Italian Herb variation (see recipe below). Subway-style soft and supple home-baked roll that is as tasty as it is simple and quick to make. This recipe creates an exact replica of Subway’s bread, allowing you to create delicious sandwiches in the comfort of your own home. Making homemade bread is less difficult than you would imagine!

My Subway Bread doesn’t require any special ingredients, and the components used in the dough are all vegan-friendly as well.

Ingredients

If you check at the ingredients of Subway’s bread, you’ll notice that it contains artificial flavors and preservatives to ensure that the bread has a longer shelf life. We’re not going to use any of it around here! Let’s look at everything you’ll need to achieve the same handmade result: Flour. The use of all-purpose white flour is recommended for this recipe since it will result in rolls with a soft center and a sensitive exterior. Olive Oil is a kind of oil that comes from the olive tree. The taste that olive oil imparts to these rolls is one of my favorites.

  1. Yeast.
  2. Active-dry yeast can be used in place of instant yeast if you don’t have access to instant yeast.
  3. Sugar.
  4. Water.

Keep in mind that lukewarm is not the same as warm or hot: it is the temperature of a baby bottle. Salt. Because salt is essential for fermentation, don’t forget to include it in your recipe! For this dish, quality sea salt should be used.

How to make these rolls step by step

  1. Prepare the dough by combining the ingredients. In a large mixing bowl, combine all of the dry ingredients. Knead the dough after adding the water and olive oil. Knead the dough for about 10 minutes, or until it is soft and elastic. In order to make the dough by hand, it will take between 10 and 12 minutes. If you’re using a stand mixer, knead the dough for 6 minutes on medium-low speed using the dough hook. The first to rise. Place a moist towel or plastic wrap over it and let it to rise until doubled in size. Divide. Immediately after the first rise, divide the dough into four equal halves. Shaping. Lightly flour the surface you’ll be working on before you begin. Open the dough into a rectangle by squeezing it or rolling it with a rolling pin. Second rise: Fold the dough over itself and squeeze the sides together to seal. Place the formed rolls on a baking sheet that has been lined with parchment paper. Cover them loosely with a moist cloth or plastic wrap and let them aside for another 40 minutes to continue to rise. When they are finished, they will feel soft and light, but they will not quite double in size. Rolls should be baked. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit about 20 minutes before you plan to bake. Bake the rolls for 25 to 30 minutes on the middle shelf, or until they are golden brown on top, brushing them with olive oil or butter halfway through the cooking time. As soon as the rolls are done, brush the tops of them with olive oil or butter to finish them off. This is necessary in order to keep the crust from becoming tough. Allow for a 20-minute cooling period before serving.

This recipe will provide 4 excellent bread rolls with a delicate exterior and a soft inside, which will be enjoyed by everyone. Is it still possible to bake homemade bread without using a stand mixer? Absolutely, it will just take a little bit more time. If you’re kneading the dough by hand, it might take anywhere from 10 to 12 minutes to get sufficient gluten development to produce a soft and light roll. Is it possible to include whole wheat flour in this recipe? Whole wheat flour can be used in place of half of the white flour in this recipe.

How to make Italian Herb and Cheese rolls

You may use the same recipe to produce the Italian Subway bread, which is a variation on the original. Just before you put the rolls in the oven, spray them with olive oil or butter and sprinkle them with Italian seasoning and grated Parmesan cheese, if desired. The herbs oregano, basil, thyme, and rosemary are commonly used in the preparation of Italian cheese. I’ve made these rolls with simply this blend and oregano, plus parmesan, and they’ve turned out well on both occasions. Any yellow cheese can be used in place of the Parmesan if you so want.

After they’ve come out of the oven, don’t forget to brush them with additional olive oil or butter!

Storing and freezing

The rolls will keep for around 3 to 4 days if they are kept properly. After the rolls have cooled, put them in an airtight container or a bread keeper that is not exposed to direct sunlight. They will become tough if they are refrigerated. Wait for them to cool before freezing them. Place them in a freezer-safe bag and seal it tightly before storing it in your freezer. They have a shelf life of up to three months. Don’t freeze dough that hasn’t been baked yet. To reheat, place the dish in a preheated oven (300°C) for 5 to 10 minutes, or until the dish is warm.

How to improve your sandwiches

If properly stored, these rolls will last around 3 to 4 days. If you want to keep the rolls fresh longer, put them in an airtight container or in the refrigerator. They will get rough if they are kept in the refrigerator. Wait till they have cooled before freezing. Combine all of the ingredients in a freezer-safe bag and place it in your freezer. Up to three months is the shelf life of these products Dough that has not been cooked should not be frozen. Preheat the oven to 300°C and bake for 5-10 minutes, or until the potatoes are warm.

Always remember to keep the dough resting in a warm location. Fermentation is badly impacted by cold places. Whole wheat flour can be used in place of half of the white flour in this recipe.
