If you don’t like cream of chicken soup, you may substitute cream of mushroom or cream of celery soup, which are also delicious. These components are added to the mixture to serve as a filler and to give it a bit more heft.

Chicken Broth– A little amount of chicken broth can be used to thin down the mixture.

Salt, pepper, garlic powder, and poultry seasoning are among the seasonings used.

Crockpot Hot Shredded Chicken Sandwich Recipe

A recipe for shredded chicken sandwiches that is made in the crockpot with stovetop stuffing and Ritz crackers is presented here for your consideration. This traditional Ohio shredded chicken sandwich recipe serves a large group of people! What about crockpot hot shredded chicken sandwiches? Is that a thing in the North? That’s something I’m not entirely sure about. What I do know is that they were a favorite of mine growing up. Potluck dinners are frequently served at these events. During the summer, you’ll be able to find them at most concession stands or ice cream stands.

Have you ever tried any of these products?

I wanted to share the recipe my mother uses with you because I believe it will help you.

And after four hours supper is ready for a crowd!

Shredded Chicken Sandwiches Ingredients

  • The following ingredients: (1) 50 oz can of boneless chicken breast, drained
  • (2) 12 oz cans of white chicken breast, drained
  • (1) can of cream of chicken soup
  • Ritz crackers (crushed)
  • 2 Ritz cracker sleeves 1 heaping teaspoon of chicken bouillon dissolved in 14 cup of water (This Bouillonis the BEST! )
  • 14 cup of Stovetop stuffing, dry mix (This Stovetop stuffingis the BEST! (There is no need to pack the stuffing to the brim.)

Whenever I’m buying a large can of boneless chicken, I opt for the “boned chicken” variety. It’s less expensive than entirely white meat, which is rare. Despite the fact that this is shredded, the can appears to be a little disorganized at first glance. If you like only white meat, go ahead and eat it. It will only be a little more expensive. Make cleanup a breeze by lining a crockpot with a slow cooker liner. Combine all of the ingredients in a large mixing bowl. (Make certain that the chicken cans have been well emptied!) Shake things up a little bit.

They will disintegrate as the sauce boils down.

(You may also leave it running on low all day.) Once this is completed, it is ready to be served on buns.

If you enjoy your shredded chicken a little runny, as I do, this recipe is for you.

This dish is ideal for a potluck gathering. This is the crockpot I use to keep spillage to a minimum. You’ll have excellent leftover shredded chicken sandwich filling the next day, too! That is, assuming you still have some left over from your previous meal. Enjoy! Print

When it comes to cooking your chicken, you have a variety of options. It is certain that all of them will yield juicy and flavorful chicken. All of the ways are simple, so pick the one that best fits your schedule and available resources.

  1. Poaching– You can poach chicken on the stovetop if you want to save time. Simply cook it for around 20 minutes in water or chicken stock
  2. It will be delicious. If you want to start cooking your meal in the morning and come home to a fully cooked chicken that is ready to shred, use your slow cooker. Slow cook the chicken for eight hours on a low heat setting. When you get home from work or school, the chicken will be ready to be shredded and served to your family. Recipe for shredded chicken in the slow cooker that requires the least amount of effort Instant Pot– If you need shredded chicken right away, it’s time to break out the Instant Pot. Make a 6-minute quick release after cooking on high pressure for 6 minutes.

Chicken may be flavored in a variety of ways, which I’ve provided five recipes for. Plain chicken is a blank canvas that may be transformed into whichever cuisine you wish. In contrast, if you follow these instructions, you will have beautifully flavored chicken that will enhance the flavor of your foods to an extraordinary degree. When the chicken is pre-seasoned, even simple sandwiches and salads become more exciting to eat.

What’s the best way to shred chicken?

While the chicken is still warm, it is the simplest to shred. I recommend shredding the flesh as soon as possible once it has finished cooking, especially if you plan to utilize the meat later in the week. When it comes to shredding chicken, you have various possibilities. One isn’t always superior to another in every way. It is entirely dependent on the cooking tools that you have accessible to you.

  1. Forks– Using two forks, shred warm chicken breasts into small pieces. Holding one fork in each hand, pull the cooked chicken apart with the tines of the forks. Stand Mixer– If you have an electric stand mixer, this may be the quickest and most convenient method of shredding chicken. Using a paddle attachment, hook the mixer to the mixing bowl and add the cooked chicken to the bowl. To shred the chicken, simply turn on the mixer on medium speed and let the paddle do the work for you
  2. Food Processor– If you want your chicken to be finely shredded, a food processor is an excellent option. It is critical, however, that the chicken is not cooked for an excessive amount of time. If you don’t, you’ll wind up with minced chicken or even chicken pate on your hands.

5 different shredded chicken flavours

Below you will discover photographs of five different sauce combinations for shredded chicken, as well as a simple meal concept to go with each one. The five flavors and food suggestions listed below are as follows:

  1. BBQ chicken– I’ve included shredded BBQ chicken in a sandwich as a filling. Simply place the BBQ chicken on top of a hamburger bun and serve with coleslaw on the side. It’s a piece of cake
  2. Jerk-inspired– This chicken is delicious served as part of a salad, such as the one depicted below. With a few sliced red onions, red peppers, mangoes, and lettuce, you’ve got yourself the most flavorful salad you’ve ever had. Lemon oregano– The Greek-inspired chicken is quite flexible, but I personally prefer it wrapped in lettuce. Combine it with cucumber, red onion, and other vegetables to make a pita sandwich. Tzatziki would be a fantastic addition as well. Tacos with chili lime sauce are the most apparent choice for this sort of chicken. Toss in some store-bought salsa, cilantro, and red onion before serving in corn or wheat tortillas. Dinner is ready in a flash
  3. The teriyaki chicken is served as part of a lettuce wrap in order to keep the dish light and refreshing. Adding it to romaine lettuce and topping it with shredded carrots and sesame seeds is an excellent idea.

BBQ shredded chicken

It’s simple to double, treble, or quadruple the quantities in this recipe. Prepare enough chicken to serve as a main dish for multiple dinners throughout the week. Alternatively, make numerous batches of the various shredded chicken recipes. If you are making big quantities of chicken in the Instant Pot, you will need to lengthen the cooking time. Cooking chicken in an Instant Pot takes around six minutes per pound of meat. Shredded chicken can keep in the refrigerator for up to four days if stored in an airtight container.

Cold chicken is also a delectable option.

Freezing shredded chicken

The process of freezing shredded chicken is quite simple. This pre-measured protein boost for soups, salads, and pasta meals may be frozen in tiny increments for convenience. Make sure that the mixture has cooled down to room temperature before freezing it in separate pieces (approximately 3/4-1 cup at a time) in freezer Ziploc bags or glass dishes.

You may either thaw in the fridge overnight or reheat in the microwave for 5-6 minutes to make this dish. If you’re microwaving it, be sure to pour approximately 1 tablespoon of water over the top and toss halfway through the warming period to eliminate that nasty residual chicken flavor.

Reheating shredded chicken

The flavor of leftover chicken is one of the most common complaints individuals have about meal preparing chicken. I’ve got a few of tactics up my sleeve to assist you prevent that sour taste:

  • Undercook the chicken slightly before reheating to ensure that the chicken continues to cook when reheated in the microwave. Reheat in the microwave with a splash of water — Sprinkle a little amount of water over the surface of the chicken and microwave for 2 minutes, stirring halfway through
  • Reheat in a frying pan with a dash of water to help minimize the gamey flavor that leftover chicken might have, and serve immediately. Extra sauce or spices (soy sauce, buffalo wing sauce, honey mustard sauce, BBQ sauce, etc.) can sometimes serve to hide the taste of certain foods.

The greatest approach to enhance the flavor of a sandwich is to prepare a delectable side dish to accompany it. This list contains my personal favorites for serving alongside this sweet and smoky barbecue chicken sandwich.

  1. Coleslaw: With a creamy, crunchy, and tangy flavor profile, cole slaw is the ideal side dish for a barbecue sandwich. Slaw with broccoli, apple, and radish: This acidic slaw gives the ideal crunch to the chicken sandwich while also cutting through the fatty, sweet tastes of the chicken. Salad de fruits: This sandwich’s richness is toned down by the addition of juicy sweet fruits, which also serve as a healthful and refreshing side dish. Salad de pommes de terre: The creamy richness of the potato salad is a perfect accompaniment to this sandwich. When you add bacon, the smokey taste helps to bind the whole dish together. Salads de noodle froides: This barbecue chicken sandwich is perfect for those hot summer days because cold noodle salads offer creamy tangy tastes that blend well with the flavors of the barbecue chicken. Baked beans are a type of legume that is baked in a tin. It’s no longer only a condiment for hot dogs and hamburgers. As a result of the numerous flavor profiles that may be created with baked beans, they are the most popular summer side dish for any barbecue-flavored sandwich. The classic dish of macaroni and cheese. This barbecue chicken sandwich recipe includes mac and cheese, a childhood favorite for many, which serves as a complementary side dish on any hot summer day. Crispy potato wedges: When it comes to french fries, you can’t go wrong. Seasoned crispy wedges are no exception, and they are a household favorite in my household. BBQ corn: What is a barbeque without a side dish of grilled corn? Despite the fact that this bbq chicken sandwich is not “authentic” barbecue fare, it goes well with grilled corn that has been coated in butter, sprinkled with salt, and topped with parmesan or crumbled feta cheese
  2. And The absence of deviled eggs would make it impossible to have a BBQ. Deviled eggs are a great option if you’re searching for something quick and easy that will also fulfill your hunger. These small bite-sized side dishes are the ideal vehicle for incorporating and experimenting with different tastes. The variety of taste profiles available for these delectable meals is virtually infinite

What Kind of Bread?

We’ve got our meat, we’ve got all of our delicious sides, but let’s not forget about the buns. Although hamburger buns are probably everyone’s first pick, I prefer to branch out and try new things. This is especially true when it comes to preparing and serving my meals. I particularly dislike generic hamburger buns because they tend to fall apart and become mushy when they are exposed to excessive amounts of meat or sauce. As a substitute, I’ve developed a checklist of alternate alternatives that will hold their own against such a sloppy sandwich.

  • This sandwich is best served on ciabatta buns, which are my personal favorite. Small amounts of butter applied before searing or grilling results in a soft outer top layer with a crispy bottom that can sustain the amount of saucy meat heaped on top
  • Split Kaiser and French rolls: These are also excellent buns for mopping up all of that yummy sauce
  • Split Kaiser and French rolls: In terms of texture, potato rolls are similar to conventional hamburger buns, although they are a little better at keeping together and not disintegrating when the barbeque chicken is added. Hawaiian buns: These buns have just the proper amount of sweetness, which makes them the perfect accompaniment to these sandwiches. In order to make the greatest slider buns for barbecue chicken sliders,

All that’s left is for you to do is sit back and enjoy this delicious sandwich. This sandwich is the great crowd-pleaser whether you are hosting a backyard BBQ, preparing for a football party, or simply seeking for a quick and simple meal. Cholee Clay was born in 2012, and she is a model.
