PB&J Snack Board

This PB J Snack Board, which includes classic peanut butter and jelly sandwiches as well as an incredible array of snacks to go with them, will appeal to both children and adults alike. It’s a simple, entertaining, and delectable way to offer a snack or meal. Sandwiches with peanut butter and jelly are excellent for snacking or fast meals. As long as we have bread, peanut butter, and jelly in the house, we can whip up a batch of PB J sandwiches whenever we want something quick and delicious that everyone will like.

  • So, instead of asking each guest what they wanted in a short period of time, I constructed this PB J Snack Board, which was a hit with everyone.
  • Another person like theirs with peanut butter and strawberry jelly.
  • Apple slices and a spray of honey are two more things I like to use in my sandwiches.
  • Mmmm…mmmm!
  • During the summer, I prepare this board for my family as a snack on a leisurely Sunday afternoon or as a lunch when the only thing that will bring the kids out of the pool to eat is a snack board.
  • Peanut butter sandwiches are delicious in and of themselves, but what you eat with them is equally as delicious.
  • My acquaintances exclusively eat potato chips with their peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, sometimes with a glass of milk for the most traditional of combos.

Apple slices and celery with a tiny bowl of peanut butter to spread on them, as well as some grapes, cheese crackers, and potato chips were placed on one side of the PB J sandwiches.

Because this board is intended for sharing and munching, I couldn’t leave out our favorite Peanut Lovers’ Snack Mix from our family.

Everything from sweet to salty to crunchy to chewy is satisfied in one bite, making it a very satisfying snack.

The recipe may be found in the section below.

Popcorn, Ritz crackers, little peanut butter cracker sandwiches, and more grapes are among the other treats I’ve arranged on the right-hand side of the board.

Honestly, I could go on and on about how much we appreciate this board!

I hope you have the opportunity to enjoy it with your family and friends soon.

I hope you enjoy re-creating it and sharing its deliciousness with your family and friends!

Can we perhaps have a little appreciation for the classic old fashioned peanut butter and jelly sandwich? I mean, we all adored these children, didn’t we? However, now that we are adults, we get the impression that we are not permitted to partake in them any longer. Or that they aren’t sufficiently sophisticated, or whatever. Well, that’s a load of nonsense, I say. The PB J is regarded as a classic for a good reason. It’s filling in every way, thanks to the protein-dense peanut butter that fills your stomach and the sweet jelly that gives your taste buds an extra delight.

Fortunately, it’s a simple fix: simply chop it up and pack it in anEasyLunchbox with with some fresh fruit and vegetables.

And if somebody makes fun of you for eating what they consider to be a “kids’ lunch,” simply offer them a taste and watch if their eyes don’t brighten.

This time of year brings return to school, which means lots of peanut butter sandwiches in our family! Did you know that peanut butter and jelly sandwiches freeze very well? I’ll frequently prepare enough for a week’s worth of meals and store them in the freezer. They may be placed directly into lunch boxes while still frozen, and they will be perfectly cooked by lunchtime while also keeping the lunch box cool. For those of you who are weary of the same ol’ same ol’I’ve got three terrific recommendations today on how to quickly and simply level-up that traditional combo to make lunch time enjoyable, healthful, and exciting!

I’m using SKIPPY® Natural Creamy Peanut Butter Spread, which is a favorite brand of mine that I can readily find at my local Kroger store (in my case, it’s Fred Meyer), which is conveniently located nearby. My favorite thing about it is how smooth and creamy it is without the need to mix it!

Tip 1: Switch up your Bread

Sometimes the simplest suggestion may make the largest difference! Try experimenting with several types of sandwich bread. Some suggestions are cinnamon raisin bread, cheddar bread, Hawaiian Sweet rolls, bagels, tortillas, and flat bread. I purchased this blueberry bread from my local Kroger bakery and it was very delicious! Using a fascinating new loaf of bread, it’s simple to put up a tasty peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

Tip 2: Switch up the Shape

This is the absolute favorite thing about my first-grader. Instead of a traditional peanut butter and jelly sandwich, consider making PB J Rolls instead. His little rolling pin rapidly flattens out the crusts of soft white bread that I had sliced off with a sharp paring knife. Spread a small coating of peanut butter and jelly on each roll, and then roll them up! When he slices them, he makes them seem like miniature cinnamon buns, which is quite entertaining!

Tip 3: Switch up the Jelly

As in, don’t bother with the jelly! Instead of dried fruit, use fresh fruit such as berries, sliced apples, or peaches. With a coating of creamy peanut butter and a sprinkling of cinnamon, the classic banana and honey sandwich is elevated to a new level of deliciousness. You may also use crunch ingredients like as coconut flakes, granola, or chia seeds into your recipe. Consider trying the classic bacon-peanut butter combination, or Elvis’s famed peanut butter, bacon, and banana combination if you’re feeling very daring.

Here are a few more dishes that we recommend for using up your jar of Skippy!

15 Ways to Upgrade Your Peanut Butter Sandwich

The classic peanut butter sandwich may be one of the most sentimental sandwiches on the planet, but if you’re still creating the same basic recipe you liked as a child, it’s time to brush up on your culinary abilities. These 15 easy ideas will take your basic lunchtime staple to new (and delicious) heights in no time at all.

1. TRY A DIFFERENT NUT (OR SEED) BUTTER.

Although peanut butter is the most widely used protein-packed sandwich spread, it is not the only one available in grocery stores. In your local supermarket, you’ll most likely find almond, cashew, and hazelnut butters, and specialized stores may have even more types, such as sunflower and pumpkin seed butters, Brazil nut butter, and pistachio butter. Each possesses various health benefits, and—more importantly—they infuse your sandwich with fresh, distinct flavors without compromising the creamy texture you’ve come to expect from a grilled cheese.

2. EXPERIMENT WITH SWEET—AND SAVORY—JAMS.

Even though grape jelly is the traditional fruit spread for peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, other sweet preserves may taste just as wonderful (if not better) when coupled with peanut or almond butter. Strawberry, raspberry, red plum jam, mango, blackberry, blueberry, and even boysenberry are some of the flavors to experiment with. And if you’re feeling very daring, you could try a savory spread like bacon jam on your toast.

3. TOAST, GRILL, OR FRY THE BREAD.

A peanut butter sandwich was never intended to be served cold, and no one ever suggested it would be. Experiment with several methods of preparing it, including grilling, frying, using a Panini press, and toasting it in the oven.

4. ADD SOME CRUNCH.

Do you prefer crunchy peanut butter over creamy peanut butter? Spend less money on chunky pre-made spreads and more on plain peanut butter, then make your own unique blends with it. Nutritionists may prefer seeds, granola, or coconut flakes, but if calories aren’t a concern (or you’re seeking dessert before lunch), try crumbled cookies, potato chips, or even sprinkles as a substitute for the traditional ingredients.

5. SPICE THINGS UP.

Remove the peanut butter from the refrigerator and mix it with a pinch of cinnamon, pumpkin pie spice, apple pie spice, nutmeg, cloves, or cardamom from your spice cupboard. Are you looking for something with a little more zip? Cayenne pepper and chili powder are excellent choices.

6. DOUBLE DECKER IT.

As an alternative to a substantial club sandwich, try making yourself a double-decker PB J. Take three slices of bread and spread two slices with jelly and one with peanut butter.

Place the peanut butter-covered bread slice sticky-side down on top of one of the jelly-covered bread slices, then spread additional peanut butter on the other side of the bread slice to finish it off. Place the second jelly-covered slice on top of the first, cut it in half, and there you have it!

7. TRY OUT DIFFERENT BREADS.

Instead of white sandwich bread, try baguettes, sourdough, whole grains, English muffins, or even tortillas. They’re all delicious (try rolling them up like burritos).

8. EAT IT FOR BREAKFAST.

Try adding peanut butter to pancakes, croissants, crepes, and French toast to make them more filling and delicious.

9. SWAP JELLY OUT FOR FRUIT.

Are you trying to cut back on added sugars? Fresh fruits such as grapes, blueberries, and strawberries can be substituted for sweet spreads. (If you’re missing the texture of jelly, consider sautéing the fruits first before placing them in your sandwich).

10. EAT YOUR PEANUT BUTTER LIKE A FAMOUS CELEBRITY.

Rather of eating with jelly, one legendary American rock and roll pioneer preferred mashed banana on his peanut butter sandwich. He also desired the bread to be pan-fried golden brown before devouring his sandwich.

11. TURN IT INTO DESSERT.

The addition of marshmallow fluff, chocolate syrup, and melted chocolate-peanut butter cups elevates a standard peanut butter sandwich to the level of a creative dessert. If you’re looking for something even more luxurious, try substituting pieces of pound cake for the bread slices in this recipe.

12. ADD SOME PIZAZZ WITH COOKIE CUTTERS.

Cookie cutters may be used to cut a peanut butter sandwich into little tea sandwiches. Use Christmas trees, snowmen, and snowflakes for holiday get-togethers, and hearts, stars, and dinosaurs for year-round get-togethers to make tea sandwiches.

13. MAKE A THAI-INSPIRED SANDWICH.

As an alternative to ordering takeout from your favorite Asian restaurant, try making a Thai-inspired sandwich for yourself. Fill a whole-grain loaf of bread with unsweetened peanut butter, rotisserie chicken breasts, sliced cucumbers, shredded carrots and red onions, and hot sauce, then top with hot sauce.

14. ADD EGGS.

Poached, fried, or scrambled eggs can be served on top of your peanut butter sandwich. The unusual mix of creamy, salty egg yolk and savory peanut butter may turn off your inner child, but your mature taste may enjoy it.

15. DRIZZLE IT WITH HONEY.

After a hard workout, fitness professionals recommend a peanut butter sandwich baked on whole wheat bread and drizzled with honey as a post-workout snack. It’s packed with fiber and complex carbohydrates, and it’s quick and easy to prepare and consume on the go.

10 Ways To Elevate The Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich

Your taste receptors were well aware from an early age that the combination of sweet and salty was a winning one. In the case of a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, this is not an exception. With the passage of time, it’s time to modernize this traditional desert and wow your taste buds with more sophisticated flavors and textures. Consider options other than the traditional white bread, creamy peanut butter, and sweet strawberry jam. Ten fresh strategies to improve on the already unbeatable PB J are listed below:

1. Add Texture

Introduce a new texture to your design to give it a new depth. Add a layer of almonds, flax seeds, or chia seeds to the top of the salad for a satisfying crunch. Try experimenting with other nuts to see what works best for you. You don’t have to mix peanuts and peanut butter; instead, try almonds to enhance the nutty flavor or pecans to provide an extra punch of sweetness. Flax or chia seeds might be used to make a slight alteration.

Consider them to be similar to rainbow sprinkles on soft serve, but far more nutritious. Both chia and flax seeds have significant levels of Omega-3 fatty acids (good fats), which can help to calm your rumbling tummy. Maeve Greeley captured this image.

2. Make it spicy

A new texture can be used to provide another level of complexity. A coating of almonds, flax seeds, or chia seeds can be added for a satisfying crunch. Think outside the box when it comes to your nut selection: you don’t have to combine nuts with PB; use almonds to enhance the nutty taste or pecans to provide a sweet crunch to your dish. Add flax or chia seeds to your smoothie for a subtle difference. You may think of them as healthier versions of rainbow sprinkles on soft serve. In addition to being abundant in Omega-3 fatty acids (good fats), both chia and flax seeds have anti-acid properties that can help to calm your stomach.

3. Heat it Up

Heat up a traditional peanut butter and jelly sandwich to bring out the best of its wonderful gooeyness to the fullest. You may use a Panini Press to make the PB J, or you can cook it in a skillet like a grilled cheese sandwich. Not only will the heat warm the middle of the bread, but it will also toast the bread, resulting in a crispy outside. It is only when it becomes hot that the layers of peanut butter and jelly come together nicely. Who wouldn’t want something like that? Maeve Greeley captured this image.

4. Broaden your bread horizon

While traditional white bread works well, merely switching out the bread can radically alter the flavor of your PB J. Choose multigrain bread to boost the nuttiness of the spread, a bagel for a more thick and hearty experience, cinnamon toast for a sweeter flavor, or, if you’re on a sugar high, sandwich your spread between two pieces of banana bread, or any other pastry, for a sweet and savory sensation. Maeve Greeley captured this image.

5. Hear the crunch

By including something crunchy in this otherwise smooth sandwich, you may give it some personality. Chewy components such as granola, pretzels, or even crunchy potato chips may make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich significantly more enjoyable. Maeve Greeley captured this image.

6. Bacon

Everything tastes better when it’s accompanied by bacon. Yes, even a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Salty, sweet, succulent, smoky—do I need to say more? Maeve Greeley captured this image.

7. Enhance the fruitiness

Add a layer of perfectly ripened bananas on top of the cake in honor of the king (Elvis). When making a more thick or tart sandwich, the inclusion of apples or dried fruits is also a terrific option. Maeve Greeley captured this image.

8. More than 2 can play this game

Other spreads are always welcome in the world of peanut butter and jelly. You really can’t go wrong with Nutella, Marshmallow Fluff, honey, cookie butter, or any combination of the four ingredients listed above. Maeve Greeley captured this image.

9. Cheese…

Do you ever find yourself eating a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for lunch and wishing it had something more substantial? It may seem strange at first, but adding a layer of cream cheese or Brie to a cake provides a rich and tangy flavor that balances out the sweetness and elevates the level of sophistication. Maeve Greeley captured this image.

10. Mix and match

In fact, many of these methods would be fantastic when combined; how about a single peanut butter and jelly sandwich topped with crunchy almonds, soft bananas, smooth chocolate spread, smokey bacon, and crispy potato chips?

… The options are virtually limitless. Maeve Greeley captured this image.

Grilled Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich

Sheesh I’ve been cooking for more than 20 years and have finally discovered the perfect recipe. Thank goodness for websites like allrecipes.com. I just made a few minor adjustments to the original plan. Instead of peanut butter, I used sliced turkey breast as a substitute for flavor. And instead of jelly, I used cheddar cheese to make a substitution. However, I wanted to keep true to the original recipe, so I brushed some butter on the exterior pieces and grilled them in a skillet instead. When I took them out of the pan and bit into them, I knew I had to express my gratitude to the genius cook who had shared this beautiful dish with me.

My family enjoyed it, and I want to make it at least once a week going forward.

Most helpful critical review

I cooked these with the expectation that they would be fantastic – after all, I enjoy any form of grilled sandwich. I was a little let down. The peanut butter and jelly were oozing out, and the warm jelly was just not appealing to me. Likewise, my husband was underwhelmed. I believe I like the simple old PB J’s from the beginning. Thank you for posting, Chasity, in any case. More information can be found at

  • A peanut butter fanatic who is simultaneously attempting to lose weight should avoid reading any sort of review that features this creamy delight on a regular basis.

It is essential to have an ice cold glass of milk on hand.

The Comfort Food Diaries: The Mindless Pleasures of the PB&J

This is not a narrative about a hedonistic indulgence. Not that elevating a simple dining event into an emotional memento of a shared experience is a bad thing. It is also not about adorning a mildly ludicrous meal with the laurels of intellectual veneration in order to elevate it beyond its ignoble origins. Neither the peanut butter nor the jelly will be dissected here, nor will I go into detail about how they came to be, their culinary predecessors, or their historical relevance. The fact that the two mix in an alchemical rebis of harmonic duality is not something I’m going to question.

  • I consume them because I’m in the mood to do so.
  • To be honest, I don’t really eat peanut butter and jelly sandwiches unless I’m in the mood for them.
  • But what a wonderful joy there is in that brief period of non-consciousness!
  • holding, chewing, and swallowing food that is perfectly sufficient to its aim of being just nice enough to elicit desire to consume it but not good enough to bring attention to the fact that it is being consumed mechanically.
  • Crunchy peanut butter, relatively chunky fruit preserves of any sort, and white bread are the main ingredients.
  • It is possible for me to be pushed from a regular two-sandwich affair to a high-stakes aspiration of three sandwiches by the square, industrial doughiness of exceedingly white bread.
  • As a finishing touch, there must also be milk, albeit it need not be more than a half glass in volume.

Physical activity, as well as anything requiring professional sharpness or attention, should be avoided if at all feasible during this time.

It doesn’t matter to me.

I shouldn’t have eaten anything sweet recently, and I shouldn’t anticipate to eat anything sweet for a long period of time in the future.

This is not a case of gluttony.

I don’t think about them till and until all of the numerous situational conditions are satisfied, and the likelihood of successfully consuming peanut butter and jelly sandwiches appears high enough.

It’s not because I disapprove of the effort; it’s that this is not what this is about for me.

Food, according to a friend of mine, may be divided into two categories: good and awful.

However, there is another level of food that is neither good nor awful, but is nonetheless better than just edible.

These foods provide me with comfort, yet it is not the great, wallowing comfort that comes with meaty or fried foods, starchy or sweet foods.

Eating peanut butter and jelly sandwiches provides the consolation of the sensuously insensate, who is halfway between relaxation and oblivion when they are eating them. So when I consume peanut butter and jelly sandwiches in the future, I won’t be thinking about any of this.

The best way to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, according to chefs

Updated2021-03-26T20:52:16Z There are a few simple ways to jazz up your standard peanut butter and jelly sandwich. MSPhotographic/Shuttershock

  • Insider asked four chefs for their best advice on how to make the ideal peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Although homemade bread and peanut butter are preferable, high-quality store-bought components can still be used. Adding a dash of spice, salt, or balsamic syrup may quickly transform a plain dish into something special. More articles may be found on the Insider homepage.

The chefs agreed that the best bread for a PB J is classic white.

It is not necessary to make the bread from scratch. chaechaebyv/Shuttershock Insider spoke with James Furnish, the head chef at Maui Brewing Co., who said that when it comes to preparing the perfect peanut butter and jelly sandwich, ingredient quality is likely the most crucial factor to consider. It is preferable to utilize as many fresh or locally sourced ingredients as possible. Furnish like to use two pieces of handmade, basic white bread for his sandwiches. Although Carey Bringle, pitmaster and proprietor of Peg Leg Porker, recommends making your own dough, he says you can use just about any traditional white bread that is soft for this recipe.

“It has to have that stick-to-your-roof-of-your-mouth feel to it.”

Homemade peanut butter can make all the difference.

The use of crunchy, natural peanut butter from the grocery store is also recommended. Insider photo by Erin McDowell After you’ve chosen your bread, you can go on to the main attraction of the sandwich: peanut butter. Insider spoke with Juan Muoz, head chef at Proper Food, who stated that the best choice is to prepare your own from scratch. “This way, you can adjust the sweetness and consistency to your liking, whether you want it smoother or chunkier,” Muoz explained. In addition, you may skip the preservatives and processed sugar found in store-bought peanut butter by using any of a variety of natural sweeteners such as agave, maple syrup, honey, and so on.

Go for a flavorful preserve or consider adding a hint of spice.

If you are unable to make up the homemade option, Furnish recommends looking for salty, crunchy peanut butter that is natural and freshly ground.

The ratio of peanut butter to jelly is arguably the most important part.

Make sure to spread the peanut butter on both sides of the bread before baking it. MSPhotographic/Shuttershock According to Muoz, optimizing the ratio of peanut butter to jelly is a critical step in creating the greatest PB J possible for consumers. According to Muoz, the trick is to spread peanut butter on both half of the loaf of bread. There should be just enough jam to let you to taste the fruit, but the peanut butter should be the main attraction.
