Most people believe that Subway is a healthy fast food chain. Are Subway meats real?

CBS News once described Subway’s meat as, ” a processed concoction of actual meat and lots of water that’s held together by things like modified food starch and soy protein concentrate, and then goosed with artificial flavorings.”

Every Subway Sandwich, Ranked

Some have suggested that what McDonald’s did for the hamburger, Subway did for the submarine sandwich, and that both companies were successful. Although various variations of the sandwich had been around for decades before Subway opened its first store in Connecticut in 1965, the company took the concept – simple sandwiches customized to customers’ preferences – and expanded it to the international market, opening more than 40,000 locations in the past 53 years, according to the company. As it progressed, the brand reinvented fast-food marketing by emphasizing its “healthfulness,” got ingrained in the Americanpop cultural zeitgeist, and established itself as the go-to meal for catered lunch meetings throughout the world.

As befitting its iconic status, we set out to determine which of its basic 15 sandwiches is the very best.

We’ve also decided to stick with 9-Grain Wheat bread as our primary bread option.

From there, we used the following criteria to determine the order in which each sub was ranked: 1.

  • There’s no use in eating the sandwich if it doesn’t have any additional fillings.
  • Does every other part of the sandwich contribute to the overall flavor of the sandwich tasting like a game-changing menu item in the background?
  • Simply put, can you eat this sandwich at lunch without worrying that you’ll have something spilled all over your shirt when you return for your 2 p.m.
  • 4.
  • – This criterion will be objective in determining whether or not it is possible to make a sandwich healthy without compromising its taste or its spirit.
  • Cole Saladino of Thrillist contributed to this report.

15. Rotisserie-Style Chicken

Rotisserie chicken is successful when it is juicy, tender, and well-seasoned; however, Subway’s is not, and as a result, this sandwich fails to impress, despite the fact that it is a somewhat good idea for a fast-food menu item. Because this is a mass-produced fast-food sub and not the handiwork of your local supermarket’s delicatessen or beloved local sandwich shop, we understand that the poultry on display was dry and brittle and concealed behind the elbow of the hoagie’s roll. Cole Saladino of Thrillist contributed to this report.

14. Veggie Delite

When you purchase this lunch, you will receive exactly what is advertised: a sandwich with vegetables. Despite the fact that it is unquestionably nutritious and that it is infinitely customisable based on your preferences, it is disappointingly bland and tastes like bread, cheese, and an undifferentiated pile of not-always-crispy vegetables in general.

Cole Saladino of Thrillist contributed to this report.

13. Meatball Marinara

We’re not going to lie: we’re disappointed that Subway’s meatball sandwich is ranked so low. It is undeniably delicious, especially for a fast-food version of a red-sauce restaurant staple. However, it is exceedingly messy to eat – you practically need a full body bib to eat this monster – and it cannot be made healthier without loosing its unique flavor and appearance. It may benefit from being cheesier, as well as from using a more hearty marinara sauce. Cole Saladino of Thrillist contributed to this report.

12. Classic Tuna

The traditional tuna possesses a number of exceptionally potent characteristics: A good, thick tuna schmear is spread throughout the sandwich, which goes well with the crisp vegetables and drizzles of oil and mayonnaise on the side. It is, however, a shambles and is shockingly unhealthy. After the ChickenBacon Ranch Melt, the basic tuna sandwich contains the second-highest number of grams of fat per sandwich. Bummer. Cole Saladino of Thrillist contributed to this report.

11. SteakCheese

Although it isn’t as good as Pat’s, Geno’s, or even Jersey Mike’s, Subway’s take on Philadelphia’s favorite sandwich isn’t half bad either. The meat itself might benefit from a little more flavor, but it congeals well with the cheese of your choice (which, in this case, should be American or provolone) and remains tightly packed throughout the cooking process. If you’re ordering a cheesesteak, you’re probably not attempting to stick to any sort of diet, so it’s not exactly health food, either.

10. Oven-Roasted Chicken

Unfortunately, the chicken itself was the only thing that kept this sandwich from being perfect. When compared to other hot subs, this one is somewhat nutritious, it isn’t messy, and all of the components complement one another, but the chicken doesn’t taste like much of anything. To make it interesting, you have to pile on an absurd quantity of toppings and condiments to make it interesting. Cole Saladino of Thrillist contributed to this report.

9. ChickenBacon Ranch Melt

Let’s get this out of the way: This is, hands down, the most unhealthy sandwich you could ever buy from Subway. In contrast, there have only been a few instances in which mixing poultry, pig, and ranch has not produced anything delectable. The saltiness of the bacon, the creaminess of the ranch dressing, and the heartiness of the chicken all work nicely together, and it never becomes too messy or difficult to manage as a result. It’s a good alternative to Subway’s cold-cut box selection. Cole Saladino of Thrillist contributed to this report.

8. Italian B.M.T.

The three various kinds of cold cuts (pepperoni, salami, and black forest ham) allow you to personalize this sub however you like, creating a “choose your adventure” sort of eating experience that means you can’t go wrong when you order it. All things considered, it’s a good choice for lunch or supper. Cole Saladino of Thrillist contributed to this report.

7. Black Forest Ham

The black forest ham sandwich, which is perhaps one of Subway’s healthiest selections outside of the Veggie Delight, is ideal for folks who want to pile on the vegetables and go crazy with sauces like Chipotle Southwest and Creamy Sriracha without feeling like a glutton.

And who doesn’t enjoy ham on a piece of bread? Cole Saladino of Thrillist contributed to this report.

6. The Cold Cut Combo

It’s the quintessential Italian deli sandwich; yet, it falls short of becoming Subway’s flagship multi-cold-cut choice due to the fact that it contains bologna, which is indisputably the most powerfully flavorful component of the sandwich. There will almost certainly be some nostalgia seekers who will demand that the meat be placed front and center, but it may cause division among those who aren’t familiar with the lunchtime favorite. Cole Saladino of Thrillist contributed to this report.

5. Sweet Onion Chicken Teriyaki

The sandwich has muscular appearance, thanks to all the sticky-sweet chunks of chicken. The sweet onion chicken teriyaki is Subway’s best hot sub, not only because it’s relatively healthy (a 6-inch sandwich only includes 370 calories and 4.5 grams of fat) but also it solves the problem that the other chicken-based hot subs have: It flavors the chicken in a tangy teriyaki sauce that doesn’t require other toppings and condiments to pick up the slack. Cole Saladino of Thrillist contributed to this report.

4. Subway Club

This sandwich contains everything necessary to qualify as a good club choice, with the exception of bacon, which is a surprising omission. Most “club” sandwiches would be disqualified because of this, but the black forest ham that is included makes it a healthier alternative to a sandwich made with strips of bacon. Despite this, we recommend just asking for bacon to be added to the sandwich in the first place. You will not be disappointed. Cole Saladino of Thrillist contributed to this report.

3. Roast Beef

Despite the fact that this is a fast-food sandwich, the roast beef cold cuts in this sandwich are filling. The richness of the beef contrasts nicely with the crispness and freshness of the vegetables provided. Those seeking for something meaty on the move without going full-on burger will appreciate this robust on-the-go choice. Cole Saladino of Thrillist contributed to this report.

2. Turkey Breast

Subway’s turkey breast sandwich is the company’s greatest sandwich since it focuses entirely on a single cold cut. Unlike the chain’s other cold-cut alternatives, this turkey breast sandwich isn’t overpoweringly salty, and you can pile on whatever you want – from mayo, lettuce, and cheese, to avocado and jalapenos peppers – without feeling weighed down by the turkey breast. Subway has always done a great job with this lunchbox favorite. Cole Saladino of Thrillist contributed to this report.

1. Spicy Italian

It takes many layers of tomatoes, peppers, lettuce, oil, and sauces to truly balance out the saltiness of the cured meats in Subway’s spicy Italian sandwich. It’s not the healthiest choice available, but we’re not going to judge it on that basis alone. It’s the whole objective of the exercise. Subway customers may use the easel provided by the spicy Italian to paint whatever they want on it, and the more things you put onto it, the better the result. Those who order it as a 6-inch or footlong sub at lunch will be satisfied for the rest of the day if they eat it that way.

According to Ryan Joseph, a freelance writer and resident of Ohio, your Cincinnati chili hot perspective is a load of garbage.

The 10 Best Subway Sandwiches, Ranked

If you’ve been paying attention to less anxiety-inducing news during this election season, you may have heard about an Irish court ruling that Subway’s bread contains too much sugar to be considered “bread.” It is referred to as a “discretionary indulgence” in legal terms. This implies that their sandwiches are delectable. Perhaps not the most delectablebreakfast-sandwich-on-a-donut. Even better would be a bacon sandwich with fried chicken as bread, which would be very wonderful. However, when it comes to fast, inexpensive cuisine, Subway does not make you feel bad about yourself.

Why do you taste so wonderful yet make us feel so bad?

If that’s the case, you’re alone responsible for your actions.

Here is a list of the top 10 Subway sandwiches, in no particular order.

1. Turkey Breast

The Turkey Breast Sandwich may seem like an outlandish pick for number one, but bear with us as we explain why. We understand that it isn’t as showy, hot, or melty as some of Subway’s other products, but it is the right combination of everything you expect from a Subway sandwich in a convenient and affordable package. It’s healthy(ish), convenient to eat on the go, and consistently delicious no matter where you get it. – Turkey is a staple protein source for lunchtime. The Turkey Club, along with chips and a drink, embodies the phrase “love the one you’re with.” Image courtesy of Subway on Facebook.

2. ChickenBacon Ranch Melt

Now we’re getting into the forget-about-being-healthy-just-be-delicious category. It’s still preferable than a Double Down, at the very least. The ChickenBacon Ranch Melt from Subway is the greatest hot-sandwich choice available at the time of writing. It’s easy to eat on the fly, and it incorporates all of the finest aspects of food: gooey cheese, crispy bacon, and roasted chicken. Photo courtesy of NorthCross Shopping Center’s Facebook page

3. Spicy Italian

The Spicy Italian meal with onion, pickles, and cucumbers is the finest cold cut sandwich at Subway if you’re seeking for the best cold cut sandwich. When you purchase this sandwich, on the other hand, you are compromising your health for the sake of flavor. It belongs on the same category as the ChickenBacon Ranch Melt as a “once in a while” treat. This is a great option when you’re looking for a mid-week boost. Check out our ranking of the best Dairy Queen Blizzards to order this weekend. Image courtesy of Subway on Facebook.

4. Sweet Onion Teriyaki

The Sweet Onion Teriyaki hot chicken sandwich from Subway outperforms the other three hot chicken sandwiches on the menu, yet they all taste the same. BBQ chicken and Buffalo chicken are both made using the same fundamental technique, but with slightly different sauces, and they’re both delicious. However, that Sweet Onion Teriyaki is to die for!

I like it because it’s sweet and tangy, and it’s also quite nutritious. You should get one of these the next time you’re running late for lunch if you want a hot sandwich with a lot of taste that won’t make you feel bad about yourself. Image courtesy of Subway on Facebook.

5. Meatball Marinara

When you’re looking for quick and simple comfort food, the Meatball Marinara sandwich from Subway is a favorite choice. First and foremost, it is more cheap than other comfort-food fast-food alternatives. Because it’s delicious, it’ll keep you satisfied for several hours, and it’s near enough to home-cooked goodness that you can call it self-care without feeling too silly about it. However, this is not a lunch choice for those on the go. It’s an open-faced sandwich made using a knife and fork.

6. Steak and Cheese

They go out of their way not to refer to this as a Philly Cheesesteak, which is understandable. It’s practically the same as the first, only not nearly as nice. However, it is a little more nutritious! So, all things considered, this is a good choice for a favorite subway sandwich. They allow you to choose your cheese when you place your order, which is a High Stakes situation if you’re not a Philly cheesehead. Some people believe that whiz is the only acceptable cheese option (which is not available at Subway), but if you choose American or provolone, you will be doing the city of Brotherly Love justice.

7. Veggie Delight

Because it contains no meat, the Veggie Delight does not rank among Subway’s top 10 sandwiches unless you are a vegetarian. If you’re a vegan (since there’s just one sandwich on your list), it ranks much higher in the rankings (this one). Aside from the Impossible Burger, there isn’t much in the way of vegan fast food options. Even a couple of Subway’s sauces, like as Sweet Onion and Buffalo, are suitable for vegans. So go ahead and smother that sandwich in sauce. More information may be found at: Buffalo Wild Wings Sauces & Flavors: The 8 Best, Ranked Image courtesy of Subway on Facebook.

8. Tuna

Those who grew up on Subway’s tuna sandwich swear by its nostalgic appeal. It’s normally considered impolite to bring fish to work for lunch, but in this new world of work-from-home opportunities, you may satisfy your tuna sandwich cravings whenever you want. Subway is also not afraid to pile on the tuna, so if you can stomach a 12-inch tuna salad (no judgment), it’s one of the most satisfying selections on the menu.

9. Black Forest Ham

It’s a ham sandwich, to be precise. You may customize your Subway sandwich by adding veggies and sauces to your meal to complement the ham if you are looking for the greatest sandwich. When you have a craving for a ham sandwich, this is a fantastic option.

If you want to experiment with unusual and wild food pairings, this is the template for you. Simply said, if you don’t want to spend some quality time at the counter, don’t order it. Credit for the image goes to Tsawwassen Commons Shopping Centre on Facebook.

10. Cold Cut Combo

In some cases, all you need is the bare necessities, and the Cold Cut Combo provides exactly that. Bologna, ham, and salami are all made from turkey, so it’s kind of like getting all three of the cold sandwiches from Subway in one bite. It’s delicious. Again, it’s a blank canvas on which to experiment with the variety of Subway’s sauces and spices, and it’s dense enough that even the six-inch sub will satisfy your hunger. 13.Sweet Onion Chicken Teriyaki

What exactly is on it? On a bed of nine-grain wheat, teriyaki-glazed chicken strips, sweet onion sauce, lettuce, spinach, tomato, cucumber, green pepper, and red onion are served. We’ll give it that it does have a distinct flavor. Despite the fact that blandness is the most popular complaint about Subway, this case proceeded in an altogether different—and even less pleasant—direction. We were panting for water because the sweetness was so close to candy (and looking for a toothbrush). Thanks to Subway for the photograph.

12.Steak and Cheese

What exactly is on it? On Italian bread, shaved steak, American cheese, green pepper, and red onion are served. Aside from the sports fanatics and this sub, there are two things that should never be permitted to leave Philadelphia: With fact, the cheesesteak was never intended to be stripped down and health-ified; it’s the type of item that should be dripping in fluids and topped with Cheez Whiz to begin with.

You should save your calories for the actual thing. Thanks to Subway for the photograph.

11.Oven Roasted Chicken

What exactly is on it? On a bed of nine-grain wheat, chicken breast, lettuce, spinach, tomato, cucumber, green pepper, and red onion are served. The mere sight of this sandwich dries up our taste senses even further. However, while the chicken breast isn’t objectionable, it isn’t up to the current fast food Chicken Wars, which have elevated the recipes of competing companies over the past two years. If you’re in the mood for white meat, go ahead to No. 2. Thanks to Subway for the photograph.

10.Veggie Delite

What exactly is on it? On a bed of nine-grain wheat, lettuce, spinach, tomato, cucumber, green pepper, and red onion are served. Subway’s lone vegetarian choice has a lot to be desired, particularly when it comes to the blending of the components together. Unless you enhance it with sauce (splurge on the vinaigrette) or cheese, this sando will be a disappointment for you (pepperjack adds some zing). Why not combine the two? Joe Pellegrini’s photograph is courtesy of Subway.

9.Chicken and Bacon Ranch

What exactly is on it? On Italian bread, chicken strips, bacon, Monterey cheddar, lettuce, spinach, tomato, cucumber, green pepper, red onion, and ranch dressing combine to make a delicious sandwich. No one can disagree that crunchy, smokey bacon and melty cheddar are a winning combination. The chicken at Subway has a wonky feel throughout, but the vegetables perform a Hail Mary by providing a refreshing crunch that helps to balance out any sensory errors on the part of the chicken. Thanks to Subway for the photograph.

8.Meatball Marinara

What exactly is on it? Served on Italian bread with marinara sauce and parmesan cheese, meatballs Remember when you were a youngster and you were a big fan of Chef Boyardee’s cooking show? You were under the impression that all those pesky noodles were simply getting in the way of the meatballs, weren’t you? For nostalgic foodies, this vegetable-free choice will make it worthwhile to splatter red sauce all over your face, hands, and a business-appropriate shirt before diving into your meal. Thanks to Subway for the photograph.

7.Cold Cut Combo

What exactly is on it? On Italian bread, you’ll find ham, salami, bologna, lettuce, tomato, cucumber, green pepper, and red onion. Every one of the cold cuts on this hearty sandwich (yes, including the ham) is made from turkey, which is a bit mind-boggling when you stop to think about it for a minute or two. Even for carnivores, the bombardment of pink flesh might be a bit much to handle at times. Six inches will enough, thank you very much. Thanks to Subway for the photograph.

6.Black Forest Ham

What exactly is on it? On a nine-grain wheat bun, ham, lettuce, spinach, tomato, cucumber, green pepper, and red onion are served. Its lasting power more than compensates for the lack of originality of this sandwich. What’s not to love about a traditional ham sub, after all? Don’t skimp on the mayonnaise and mustard; they’re merely adding fuel to the endless inferno. Thanks to Subway for the photograph.

5.Tuna

What exactly is on it? Tuna salad with lettuce, tomato, cucumber, green pepper, and red onion served on toasted Italian bread When you make this rendition of a lunchtime classic, the chicken of the sea dives into an ocean of creamy mayonnaise.

Sure, it’s a little mushy, but it still has a distinct tuna flavor. This is a solid performance. Joe Pellegrini’s photograph is courtesy of Subway.

4.Turkey Breast

What exactly is on it? On a bed of nine-grain wheat, turkey breast, lettuce, spinach, tomato, cucumber, green pepper, and red onions are served. Substitutes are the little black dress of the industry. Suitable at any time of day or night, it may be dressed up or down with whichever vegetables, cheese, or sauce you choose on that particular day. It’s hardly surprising that this location made the list of the top five in a business that specializes on blandness. Joe Pellegrini’s photograph is courtesy of Subway.

3.Italian B.M.T.

What exactly is on it? On Italian bread, Genoa salami, ham, pepperoni, lettuce, tomato, cucumber, green pepper, and red onion are layered with cheese. OH, Genoa salami, pepperoni, and Black Forest ham, you are the heart and soul of any sizzling menagé à trois. Our bodies need nothing more than your 750-plus calories of salty spice after we’ve had a few drinks and it’s late at night. Thanks to Subway for the photograph.

2.Buffalo Chicken

What exactly is on it? Italian bread topped with buffalo chicken strips, lettuce, tomato, cucumber, and ranch dressing. Subway frequently removes sauces from their sandwiches in an effort to be “better for you.” This is done to reduce excessive sugar and salt. While this is not the case with its buffalo chicken sub, it is possible that this is why it rates so well. It is the perfect combination of sour, creamy Frank’s hot sauce and zippyranch dressing to coat the chicken strips and vegetables in tangy, creamy bliss.

Joe Pellegrini was photographed by Subway and used with permission.

1.Spicy Italian

What exactly is on it? On Italian bread, Genoa salami, pepperoni, lettuce, tomato, cucumber, green pepper, and red onion are layered together. One thing that has been quite evident as a result of this taste test is that if a Subway sandwich does not have pepperoni and salami, we do not want to know about it. Despite the diversions of inferior meats, all other subs must kneel before the magnificence of this king of sammies. Is it really so hot and spicy? Absolutely not even a little bit. Did we give a damn?

I tried all of the basic sandwiches at Subway and ranked them from worst to best

  • It was a tough decision, but I decided to try all 12 sandwiches offered at my local Subway and rank them. The steak-and-cheese sandwich was not as excellent as it appeared
  • But, the meatball sub, a childhood favorite, did not disappoint.

Something is in the process of loading. Even while Subway does not occupy the same cultural space as other giants such as McDonald’s, the company is the world’s largest fast-food chain, with more than 40,000 outlets worldwide. Without hesitation, I went out to attempt to rate all 12 sandwich options available at my local Subway, despite my reservations about the chain’s difficult to miss bread scent and the much contested cold-cut combination (which is entirely turkey-based). First impression (does it look like a sandwich?) and taste test (does it taste like a sandwich?) were the two criteria used to determine the ranking.

Read on to find out how they fared in the taste and texture department. Please keep in mind that this list covers all of the predesigned sandwiches that were offered at one particular Subway location in the United States.

I was skeptical of the tuna sandwich, and it didn’t do much to sway me

The tuna sandwich wasn’t my favorite, to say the least. First impression, according to Insider’s Lucien Formichella: “It’s just turkey.” As I gaze at the chilly sandwich — one of two that didn’t get toasted because hot tuna tastes odd — I attempt to persuade myself that it’s not frigid. I didn’t drink any vinegar, either. Normally, I enjoy mayonnaise in my tuna salad, but I wasn’t confident in their ability to properly combine it. To describe the taste, there is no other way than to say it tasted like chicken salad with some fish flavor extract tossed in.

Tuna should be served at home, and it should be made by the cook himself or herself.

I was excited to try the steak-and-cheese sub, but it wasn’t as good as it looked

The steak-and-cheese sandwich looked delicious, but it didn’t taste as wonderful. Insider is written by Lucien Formichella. I had great expectations for this sandwich based on my first impression. The chipotle mayo, which I’ve been informed is a must-have condiment, has a pleasant scent to it. While the peppers and onions should make for a delicious accent, I would like them to be sautéed rather than roasted. Because there were no lettuce or tomatoes in the image, this is the only sandwich on which I did not put lettuce and tomato.

  1. Insider is written by Lucien Formichella.
  2. What a bizarre blend of tastes you have there.
  3. I also didn’t anticipate that the crunch of the vegetables would throw me off, but it did.
  4. If I were from Philadelphia, I’d tell them to “throw that hoagie down the coast and hit up the Wawainstead.”

The sweet-onion chicken-teriyaki sandwich didn’t wow me with its flavors

There were too many different tastes to choose from. Insider is written by Lucien Formichella. First impressions: I’m not sure what to make of it at this point. Because lettuce and tomato were depicted in the photo, that’s what I received. It’s never a bad idea to consume a few vegetables. It appears a little strange when seen at home under normal lighting conditions. I inquired of the sandwich artisan about the best dressing to combine with the teriyaki, and she advised me to go with the sweet onion dressing.

Insider is written by Lucien Formichella.

The teriyaki taste, which I had expected to be overwhelming, turned out to be fairly mild.

Although this was a good sandwich, the flavors didn’t quite work together.

I went for every topping available on the veggie delight

I had hoped that the staff would be more impressed by my order. I was wrong. Insider is written by Lucien Formichella. First impressions are important. I made the mistake of walking home with a veggie sandwich that consisted just of onion, tomato, and iceberg lettuce in a moment of stupidity. I was ready to bite into my sandwich when I realized I could have gotten all of the toppings if I had tried harder. I took a deep breath and congratulated myself on my brilliance while simultaneously berating myself for my incompetence.

  • “I’d like all of the toppings,” I responded, hardly able to keep my excitement in check.
  • It seemed like he was hacking across the buffet table with his fingers, much like in a movie.
  • I began to doubt my sense of humour when he quickly folded up my sandwich with little apparent effort.
  • The sub was mostly made up of peppers, including sweet and jalapeo, and it was served on a bed of lettuce, spinach, cucumber, and tomato, among other things.
  • It was essentially a salad served on a piece of bread.
  • I didn’t see the sense in toasting a sandwich with only veggies on it, so I just served it cold instead of warm.
  • Below the surface of everything was a bed of delectable spinach (mypreferred sandwich green).

Due to my preference for salads over sandwiches, this is perhaps the only vegetable-based sandwich I’ve ever consumed. In my opinion, the bread completely negates any of the nutritional benefits of the veggies.

My Black Forest ham sub was salty but good

This sandwich has a lot of salt in it. Insider is written by Lucien Formichella. The first impression is that this appears to be pretty nice. As a result, I had to make do with a bit of another sandwich because I didn’t receive a tomato for some reason. I also grabbed the essentials, lettuce, onion, and mustard, which I put together myself. I’m anticipating a saltier, fuller-bodied flavor than I would get from normal old ham. This processed meat was definitely salty and had a good bounce, which is something you want in any processed meat.

Despite this, there is a seamless mix with the cheese that is unexpectedly delicious.

The traditional ham didn’t taste much different than the Black Forest variety

There didn’t seem to be any distinction between the ham kinds. Insider is written by Lucien Formichella. To my knowledge, there is little, if any, difference between regular ham and Black Forest ham, with the exception of perhaps a little color variance. First impression: Taste test: I began to question whether or not the worker had given me the correct sandwich. I was confident in my knowledge of hams. I didn’t get a taste of anything. I didn’t have any feelings. I took a closer look at the two ham sandwiches and couldn’t tell which was whose.

I wasn’t blown away by the Italian B.M.T., but its 3 meats bumped it higher on the ranking

On the B.M.T., there are three types of meat to choose from. Insider is written by Lucien Formichella. I was pleased to find that this multi-meat sandwich had Genoa salami, spicy pepperoni, and Black Forest ham, which I thought was a nice touch. I was a little concerned that it might be three different kinds of processed turkey, similar to the cold-cut combination I’d read about. What it lacked in flavor, it more than made up for in sheer volume of meat. Insider is written by Lucien Formichella.

Although the meats weren’t very flavorful, this was a well-rounded sandwich.

This was a straightforward sandwich.

Subway’s oven-roasted chicken sandwich was well-balanced

The chicken sandwich appeared to be rather delectable. Insider is written by Lucien Formichella. First impression: This appears to be extremely good and straightforward. It’s something I’m really excited about. The chicken turned out to be extremely juicy. Insider is written by Lucien Formichella. Observe the results of a taste test. All of the components came together to make something beautiful in this situation. The key selling point of Subway sandwiches was demonstrated: you could purchase them somewhere else, but the quality is consistent and there are no surprises.

The chicken was fairly moist, which is something you cannot say about all of Subway’s meats, and it paired quite well with the simple toppings on the sandwich.

I was pretty excited to try the classic turkey sub, and it didn’t disappoint

It’s difficult to make a bad turkey sandwich. According to Insider’s Lucien Formichella, first impression: After hearing so much about Subway’s other turkey-based meats, I was thrilled to actually sample the genuine thing. Taste test: Without a doubt, this was the finest beef we had. The rest of them came off as cheap knockoffs of the real thing. Additionally, the way it blended with the melting cheese on the sub was excellent.

I recreated the classic Subway melt from memory since it wasn’t on the menu

The Subway melt was formerly a popular sandwich from the brand, but it is no longer available on all of its locations. Insider is written by Lucien Formichella. This was not on the menu at my Subway, but I knew it was a classic, so I made it myself by ordering turkey, ham, and bacon from a local grocery store. First impression: The bacon was an additional dollar, which I’m not sure will be worth it, but I went ahead and ordered it anyway. This sandwich’s hidden ingredient turned out to be bacon during the taste test.

I was impressed by the chicken-and-bacon ranch melt

This sandwich looked a lot better than I had expected it to look like. Insider is written by Lucien Formichella. As a result, I’m a little hesitant about this because it’s one of the few sandwiches that I haven’t actually tried before. I got even more skeptical after I was out of the Subway’s lights. There’s just so much sauce on the plate. The taste combination was just fantastic. Insider is written by Lucien Formichella. Taste test: I was completely incorrect; this sandwich was absolutely great.

With the lettuce, tomato, and onion, it created a scrumptious backdrop that adhered to the concept of simplicity.

The meatballm arinara sub was the best of the bunch, despite its too-sweet sauce

Meatball subs have always been a favorite of mine. Insider is written by Lucien Formichella. First impression: Who doesn’t enjoy a good meatball sandwich? This is the Subway sandwich that got me hooked on Subway in the first place. When I was a youngster, I used to eat it almost every day throughout the summer. Sure, it doesn’t always look great when you first take it out of the bag, but it’s one of my personal favorites. Taste test: It tasted just how I remembered it to. The tomato sauce was a little overly sweet, but it was a little price to pay for the rest of the meal.

Even with that in mind, it’s nearly impossible to make a bad meatball sandwich from scratch.

There is a common misconception that Subway subs are nutritionally sound; however, this is not always the case.

Meatball Marinara

Since it originally appeared on the Subway menu, the Meatball Marinara has consistently been a crowd pleaser. It is the sub that brings in consumers from all over the world, and it is easy to understand why. Because it is absurd, when you taste a Meatball Marinara, you will most likely be perplexed as to why no one has ever tried to put meatballs in a sandwich before. Adding sauces and salad to it is a pain, and eating it is a messy business as well as a pain. However, if you have a taste of that silky, delectable sauce, all of these hassles are completely worth it.

Subway Club

In the world of real Club sandwich enthusiasts, the Subway Club is a contentious proposition. This is due to the fact that a club sandwich nearly usually includes bacon. A Subway Club sandwich, on the other hand, does not. Instead of bacon, black forest ham is utilized in this recipe, which makes it a much healthier alternative overall. If you don’t care for black forest ham, you can easily request that it be swapped out for bacon to turn your Subway Club into a traditional club at your convenience.

Italian B.M.T

For those who love their subs served cold, you must try the BMT (Italian B.M.T. ). This alternative is fresh and delicious, and it is also healthy to consume. All of the ingredients in this sub are thinly sliced, which means that there is plenty of room for you to pile on any salad and sauce you like.

Also, this sub filling goes well with a variety of other breads and rolls. With the addition of salami, black forest ham, and pepperoni, there isn’t a single item in this sandwich that doesn’t taste fantastic. As a result, it is ideal for personalizing and making it your own!

ChickenBacon Ranch Melt

The Chicken and Bacon Ranch Melt is an example of how Subway isn’t necessarily the healthiest option, as we’ve previously stated. However, despite the fact that this is the unhealthiest option on the whole Subway menu, it is also one of the most delicious, which is why it has been placed so highly on this list. The fact that every single component in this sub compliments every other ingredient is one of the reasons why it is such a popular option. You can make it your own if you wish, but we will always order our chicken bacon ranch melt according to the recipe.

Roast Beef

If you’re stopping by Subway for a quick lunch, you might be searching for something straightforward and filling. Choosing roast beef is the best option. It fits nicely with the fresh breads that Subway has to offer, and the flavor of roast beef is completely timeless. Basically, you may put anything you want in this sub, and it will always be clean and simple to consume. It is the finest option if you need to eat on the move and it is guaranteed to keep you full until the conclusion of the working day.

Veggie Delite

If you are a meat eater, there is a good probability that you will never contemplate this vegetarian delicacy. For vegetarians, though, this is pretty much the only choice available to them. There is no disputing that this sub might be monotonous, but it can be made as fascinating as you want it to be by your efforts. When it comes to the salad alternatives, you have complete freedom, and you can dress it up with whatever sauces you want to make it more flavorful. If you are a vegetarian, this is the ideal option because it is the least interesting of the options.

Spicy Italian

If you want a sandwich with a lot of flavor, the Spicy Italian is the only sandwich you should order from here. To guarantee that this sub is filled with taste, it is stuffed with a variety of meats (including pepperoni and salami) and a generous amount of cheese. Although you may think this sandwich to only be wonderful in its most basic version, it really tastes much better when you customize it with your favorite vegetables and sauces. As a result, if you enjoy spicy foods, you should absolutely give it a try.

Turkey Breast

Alternatively, if you prefer something more straightforward, the turkey breast sub is a good choice. The simplicity of this sub has a certain elegance about it, which makes it particularly well suited for customization. Turkey breast is a full and healthful dish that also happens to be rather tasty. However, the flavor isn’t overpowering, which is why you may use any sauce and salad you like to go with it.

Black Forest Ham

“Black Forest Ham” is the filler of choice for meat lovers who wish to consume less meat while still maintaining a healthy lifestyle. However, Black Forest Ham comes in a close second to the vegetarian subs as far as nutritional value is concerned.

Due to the fact that this ham is sliced, it is extremely clean to consume, and it has the right flavor to pair with whatever sauce or veggies you like. For those who want to indulge but don’t want to deviate from their healthy eating habits, this is the alternative for you.

Buffalo Chicken

The Buffalo Chicken sandwich is the next item on the menu. The chicken in this sub packs a serious punch, and the addition of Frank’s Redhot hot sauce on top just adds to the intensity of the flavor. You may make whatever salad you like, but we recommend tomato, cucumber, and lettuce for the most flavorful results. Due to the fact that this sub is really excellent, it is simple to understand why it has rapidly become a strong favorite at Subway.

Sweet Onion Teriyaki

The Onion with a Sweet Taste There are a variety of reasons why Teriyaki is a popular choice at Subway. In this sub, the chicken is sticky and sweet, and it is easy to mix it with veggies of your choosing to make it a healthy option. However, there is one significant problem to this sub, and that is the fact that it is a complete mess. The Teriyaki sauce and sticky chicken make this sandwich a tasty lunch option, but it is not the ideal choice if you need to go to a meeting on time.

Cold Cut Combo

Last but not least, we have the iconic ‘Cold Cut Combo sub.’ If you want your subs toasted, this isn’t the option for you; nonetheless, this alternative will transport you back to an actual Italian deli in no time. There is bologna in this choice, which has a strong flavor that isn’t for everyone. Additionally, the mix of components makes this option a bit messy. Subway Sandwiches Ranked From Worst To Best

It’s hard to argue with Subway when it comes to global dominance. The fast food giant is in a league of its own. The company, according to Business Insider, has more than 42,000 locations throughout the world and is present in more than 100 different countries. There is no other fast food restaurant chain with as many locations as McDonald’s. Subway has more than 22,000 outlets in the United States alone, which is over half as many as McDonald’s, the fast food business with the second-highest number of locations in the country (according to Yahoo!

What is it about Subway that makes it such a popular destination?

Every aspect of their sandwiches, from their excellent bread to their fresh ingredients, will have you head over heels in love with them!

Not all Subway sandwiches, on the other hand, are made equal. Some are undeniably superior than others in every way. Look at all of the sandwiches that Subway sells, starting with the lowest of the worst and working our way up to the best of the best.

13. Tuna

One item you should never order at Subway is theirTunasandwich, which is a sandwich made with tuna. Although you may enjoy homemade tuna sandwiches, Subway’s version is simply revolting. For starters, they use far too much mayonnaise in their recipes. Second, the mayo that this sandwich restaurant uses has a foul taste and a watery consistency, which is unacceptable. A lot superior mayonnaise may be found at your local food shop. Third, many people believe that there is something seriously wrong with the flavor of the tuna fish.

  1. Some consumers have expressed concern about the flavor of Subway’s tuna since it is so different from what they are used to.
  2. Several plaintiffs asserted in the case that this sandwich does not include any genuine tuna and may perhaps be devoid of any fish at all.
  3. Subway, on the other hand, claims that its tuna is just fish mixed with mayonnaise.
  4. It’s potentially harmful to your health, and it tastes awful no matter which vegetables you add to try to brighten up this depressing sandwich’s appearance.

12. Veggie Delite

You do not have a legitimate reason to order theVeggie Delites Sandwich, even if you are the most uninteresting human being on the earth. This uninteresting sandwich is made out of lettuce, spinach, red onions, cucumbers, tomatoes, and green peppers, all of which are served on wheat bread. Subway does have fresh veggies and delicious bread, but instead of ordering a Veggie Delite, you can easily locate a better fast food salad that will not boring the living daylights out of your taste senses.

These activities, on the other hand, are a complete waste of time and money.

For those who don’t care for the bread served at Subway, they shouldn’t even bother going there, making these salads a moot argument at the very least.

11. SteakCheese

In the event that you enjoy actual Philadelphia cheesesteaks, you will despise Subway’s SteakCheesesandwich to the extreme. Even while this imitation Philly cheesesteak attempts to capitalize on what makes the genuine thing so irresistible, it falls short in terms of the heart, soul, and deliciousness that make the real thing so memorable. Comparisons between authentic Philly cheesesteaks and Subway’s Steak and Cheese sandwiches are analogous to comparisons between an expensive steak from an exclusive restaurant and one from the back of the freezer of your local dollar store: they are diametrically opposed to one another.

The taste of the meat is limited, and the texture is overdone and far too chewy to be enjoyable.

Green peppers and red onions are the only additional standard components in this sandwich, and they don’t offer anything to raise the SteakCheese on their own to make it more interesting.

Instead than settling for this disappointing Subway version of a Philly cheesesteak, go out and grab a real Philly cheesesteak. It’s not the worst sandwich you’ve ever had, to be sure, but if you’re looking for a nice sandwich, you won’t dare order it more than once.

10. Cold Cut Combo

In the same way that the Veggie Delite sandwich was plagued by monotony, the Cold Cut Combo sandwich suffers from the same problem. On paper, it appears like there will be a wide variety of meats and vegetables to choose from, which will keep things interesting. Unfortunately, this sandwich is too basic and tepid to be considered a recommendation. Salami, ham, and bologna are the three varieties of meat that are included in the Cold Cut Combo sandwich. Those three types of meat, taken individually, are all excellent choices.

You won’t be able to distinguish the distinct flavors of each cold cut, and there isn’t much in the way of spice or sweetness to keep the party going.

In the case of a fully-grown adult, on the other hand, you will be left wanting more.

The least you can do is add a drizzle of oil, vinaigrette, or red wine vinegar to your Cold Cut Combo sandwich at Subway, just to give it a little more taste if you’re in the habit of ordering it.

9. Buffalo Chicken

The Buffalo Chickensandwich at Subway isn’t as horrible as you would assume, but it also might not be precisely what you’re looking for in a sandwich. If you’re looking forward to anything that tastes like Buffalo wings or the Spicy Buffalo Chicken Sandwich that you can get at IHOP, you might be a little disappointed. Subway utilizes grilled chicken instead of deep-fried chicken because deep-fried chicken is expensive. If you’re okay with making that swap, you could find this sandwich to be rather enjoyable.

Additionally, the Buffalo Chicken sandwich is served on Italian bread with lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, and ranch dressing as part of the regular offering.

Some customers, however, believe that the lettuce and cucumber slices on this menu item are unappealing, therefore you may want to try modifying your order to exclude both of these items from your order.

8. Black Forest Ham

Despite the fact that the Black Forest Hamsandwich should not be superior to the Cold Cut Combo sandwich, it is. This merely goes to show that more isn’t necessarily better in every situation. If you order this sandwich, the taste of the black forest ham will have the space and chance to shine since it will not be overshadowed by the flavors of the other meats vying for your attention. To be sure, this isn’t the best ham you’ve ever had, but the texture is lovely and the flavor is still rather enjoyable.

The Black Forest Ham sandwich is made out of the following fundamental ingredients: lettuce, spinach, green peppers, red onions, cucumbers, tomatoes, and black forest ham.

The provolone cheese from Subway is an excellent choice for this sandwich since it has a sweet and savory flavor that goes well with the ham.

White American cheese would also work well in this situation. When it comes to the sauce, anything from mayonnaise to honey mustard would be appropriate. Consider using black olives and banana peppers for an additional flavor boost if that isn’t enough to entice your ham-craving taste buds.

7. Turkey Breast

The Turkey Breastsandwich at Subway is just mediocre when compared to other fast food sandwiches available in the vast universe of fast food, but it is still far superior than what you could have expected. Sandwiches made with sliced turkey often have a neutral flavor and are only consumed when attempting to maintain a balanced diet. To my surprise, the sliced turkey served by Subway is actually rather tasty and savory as well. The turkey is oven-roasted, resulting in a taste that has a significant degree of depth.

Even if you decide not to add anything further to it, you’ll be happy with the results.

You’ll save calories and fat by making this sandwich, which has just 219 calories per serving and 20 grams of protein and less than three grams of fat.

6. Oven Roasted Chicken

In terms of flavor, the Oven Roasted Chicken Sandwich from Subway is an excellent pick that will not disappoint anybody searching for a satisfying fast food sandwich with a lot of flavor. In fact, it’s much better than it appears on paper. The first time you order this sandwich, you’re probably expecting something with pitiful tiny bits of chicken sandwiched between two slices of bread. This isn’t the case at all. As a substitute, you will be given a sandwich that contains a huge chicken breast.

Even if you believe that most Subway sandwiches are too dry, give one of these a try and you will likely be pleasantly pleased.

That being said, you should be aware that this is a quite hearty sandwich for most people, and a 6-inch sandwich will generally plenty to keep you going for a while.

In fact, it was discovered to be the healthiest chicken sandwich in a survey that looked at chicken sandwiches from a variety of fast food places, including Chick-fil-A, McDonald’s, and Wendy’s, among others.

5. Italian B.M.T.

You’re probably aware that a BLT sandwich derives its name from the fact that it contains bacon, lettuce, and tomato. So, what exactly is the Italian B.M.T.sandwich at Subway? Is that a bacon, mayonnaise, and tomato sandwich, or something different? Is that a bacon, mango, and tomato sandwich, or something else? No, the real explanation is really rather convoluted, and it has practically nothing to do with the contents of the sandwich in the first place. Originally, Subway’s B.M.T. sandwich was named after a section of the New York City subway system that served the area.

stands for “largest, meatiest, and tastiest.” Although it may seem like a strange reinterpretation of the original sandwich moniker, it turns out that Subway is not lying.

The meats used in the Italian B.M.T.

While the Cold Cut Combo, despite the fact that it contains three types of meat, is boring, this sandwich is vivid from the first taste.

Ham, pepperoni, and salami are all clearly discernible, and there are enough flavors in play to keep your taste buds completely engaged for the course of your meal.

4. ChickenBacon Ranch

Isn’t it true that bacon makes everything taste better? Everything tastes much better when cheese is melted on top of it. It is unlikely that you will be surprised to find that combining bacon and melted cheese on a Subway sandwich almost results in a culinary masterpiece. ChickenBacon Ranchsandwich starts with all-white strips of chicken that have been marinated and seasoned to perfection before being placed between two slices of bread. If you enjoy delicate chicken, you’ll fall in love with this dish.

  • Then, the chicken and bacon are topped with Monterey cheddar cheese, which is melted over the top.
  • When you combine all of these delicious ingredients, the savoriness of all of these delicious components will undoubtedly blow your mind.
  • Most Subway sandwiches aren’t made any better by being toasted, but this one is definitely made much better by being done so.
  • Obviously, don’t do it if it will cost you money, but if it is a free alternative, definitely consider taking the toasting precaution.

3. Meatball Marinara

Subway’sMeatball MarinaraSandwich appears to be a gimmick on the surface of things. Anyway, what would a fast food establishment know about meatballs or marinara sauce, to begin with? You’d assume that only a real Italian restaurant would be able to create such a delectable sandwich as this. However, this is not the case, which is surprising. It’s true that this Subway sandwich is one of the greatest items they have to offer on their whole menu. Although this lunch is unlikely to be classified as real Italian cuisine, your taste senses will be unable to tell the difference.

The meatballs are really delicious, thanks to the tomatoey richness of the marinara and the addition of Italian seasonings.

For a brief period, Subway offered a Meatball Marinara sandwich that used plant-based meatballs instead of the traditional beef.

Our item would be worthy of a position at the top of this list if it were to become a permanent part of Subway’s menu at some point.

2. Sweet Onion Chicken Teriyaki

Ordering one of Subway’s criminally underratedcookies is one way to satisfy your sweet appetite the next time you’re in the mood for a quick snack. In particular, their White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cookie is a treat you should indulge in before you pass away from this earthly coil. There is, however, another choice, and it is not a baked product, with the exception of the bread. Take a bite off of the Sweet Onion Chicken Teriyaki sandwich, and your sweet tooth (as well as everything else in your mouth) will be delighted.

The sandwich is served with sweet onion slices on the side.

There’s even more sweetness on the inside of the sandwich, thanks to a generous quantity of sweet onion sauce slathered on top.

Numerous individuals claim that the Sweet Onion Chicken Teriyaki sandwich is, in fact, the finest Subway sandwich of all time. One sandwich, while very, very close to the other, has a slight edge in terms of taste and texture.

1. Spicy Italian

Despite the fact that it’s a close choice, theSpicy Italiansandwich deserves to be recognized as the greatest sandwich available at the Subway sandwich counter. To begin with and most significantly, it is absolutely delectable. The fact that it is so adaptable is another reason why it deserves to be given this distinction. Choose any type of bread, any type of sauce, any type of cheese, or any other topping from Subway’s extensive menu, and it will pair well with the Spicy Italian sandwich. It is possible to design the sandwich of your dreams without any concerns or second-guessing because of this characteristic.

They have a satisfying spiciness to them when combined, and each mouthful bursts with a mouthwatering quantity of flavor.

Please feel free to personalize this bad boy to your heart’s content, as always.
