Add your greens and let them wilt while you cook the rest of the ingredients.

Coleslaw is a meal that is quite simple to prepare. This dish has vinegary ingredients, and the raw white cabbage and onion used in the recipe are both somewhat acidic, which helps to cut through the fatty richness of the pork dish. If we’re being honest, pulled pork isn’t especially slimline, so anything that resembles a salad would be the perfect companion. This is especially true when the food is as delicious as this.
3. Cucumber and Tomato Salad
If you’ve read what we’ve written thus far, you’ve probably noticed that we’re making every effort to keep things as light as possible. As a side dish, a light and refreshing summer salad can help to alleviate the heaviness of your pulled pork dish. It’s quite simple to put together. Prepare a salad by dicing a cucumber and three or four big tomatoes, adding a finely sliced red onion, and tossing everything together with a couple of teaspoons each of olive oil and red wine vinegar. In order to give it a truly fresh flavor, add some chopped basil, mint, or parsley.
4. Fruit salad
In a similar vein to the above, we’d like to recommend a refreshing fruit salad. It is not uncommon to serve fruit alongside pork. It sounds like you’ve never tried it with apple sauce before. This is the same premise as before, but with a new twist.
With a fruit salad, you may use any type of fruit that you choose. One of our favorites is a fruit salad with chopped strawberries, apples, watermelon, and mandarin oranges. If you want a bit of a zingy bite, combine the juice of one lemon or lime with the honey before serving.
After all that healthy and light salad eating, we figured we’d take a vacation from it. You’ll want to indulge in a true guilty pleasure every now and again. Making French fries is something we like doing. Simply slice your potatoes into very thin batons and soak them for a long period of time to remove the starch from their skins. If you want them uncooked, simply drain them, pat them dry, and deep fried them in oil until golden brown. A teaspoon of cumin along with a touch of salt and pepper, followed by a pinch of chili powder, can be added to a bowl to give it some flavor.
In a large mixing basin, toss the fries until they are well coated, then bake for 25 minutes, flipping halfway through.
As previously said, pulled pork has a distinctly ‘country’ flavor. Chopped cornbread is the way to go if you want to set a genuine rural table. Pulled pork and corn go together like peanut butter and jelly. With crisp and tender pork, mouthfuls of profoundly golden yellow delicious bread are devoured. Amazing. Cornbread is a simple dish to prepare. Pancake mix, some cornmeal, and a few other household goods should be plenty for this recipe. Make a batch of cornbread and you’ll have it ready in about 45 minutes.
7. Corn Fritters
Well, if you’re going to make pulled pork, you might as well go the whole nine yards (pun intended). Corn fritters are like small crispy balls of naughtiness that are perfect for snacking on. These will be devoured by both adults and children. Essentially, they are pancakes with a little something more on top. It is, without a doubt, corn. The nicest part about making sweetcorn fritters is that they can be prepared ahead of time, up to two days in advance, if necessary. If you really want to get ahead of the game, you may freeze them and then reheat them when you have more time.
Biscuits made with honey and butter, to be precise. These light and delicate dough balls are ideal for wiping up any fluids or sauce that may have remained after the meat has been cooked. As far as bread recipes go, this has to be one of the simplest because there is no need to fuss with yeast or even eggs. Baking powder is used as a rising agent. Pork can be a touch salty, but those who are familiar with Chinese cuisine will know that the best way to counteract this is with something sticky and delicious.
9. Onion and Tomato Curtido Salad
Okay, enough with the carbohydrates (don’t worry, we’ll go back to them). We’ve cheated a little here because the tomato is technically a fruit, and we’ve previously stated “fruit salad” in this sentence. The onions, on the other hand, make it flavorful. In the event that you enjoy salsa, this may quite well be the meal for you. Everything about it tastes like salsa, but it’s a much chunkier version of the dish. A few red onions, a couple of tomato slices, and a handful of cilantro are required.
The onions are pickled in lime juice to give them a tangy flavor.
They eventually become mushy due to the breakdown of the onion’s structural integrity. This is a great recipe to prepare ahead of time since it tastes even better the next day after it has been cooked. Our guilty pleasure is slurping up the salad’s leftover juices with a paper towel. Delicious

We warned you that we would be returning to carbohydrates. The fact that the meal is both a salad and a small amount of stuffing makes it an excellent compromise. This meal would be especially handy if you didn’t have quite enough pig because it may be used to make up for any shortfalls in your meat supply. It’s not only pasta in this meal; you’ll also find crisp peppers and onions, a taste of celery, and a dressing that’s both sweet and bitter. Oh, and don’t forget to include a couple of hard-boiled eggs in case something goes wrong.

We like to dress it with a red wine vinaigrette dressing and toss it with a handful of finely sliced red onions to give it some bite.
12. Potato Salad

Pork and beans are on the menu. It’s okay to indulge your inner cowboy every now and then, and this combo has been going strong for years. Baked beans are a calorie-dense dish, and they become even more so if you opt to make them somewhat sweeter. Depending on your preferences, you may bring forth a variety of various tones. A splash of vinegar combined with a spoonful of syrup or molasses may transform them into something that is both sweet and sour at the same time. When you combine pork with beans, you will not be hungry.
14. Rice Pilaf
Rice has a relatively neutral flavor and is a great component for baking. Some might think it’s a touch monotonous, but I disagree. We see it as more of a blank canvas, which is ideal for experimenting with different taste combinations. You may use a variety of flavors to bring out the best in your pork, including spicy, sweet, and subtle. There are a plethora of alternatives. Moroccan-style dressing, made with pomegranate seeds and a few chopped raisins, is more than enough to keep things interesting without becoming monotonous.
15. Corn Salsa
Some people could refer to it as succotash. Corn salsa, on the other hand, sounds considerably more sophisticated. You’ll get a meal that’s rich in texture, color, and flavor if you combine beans with chopped pepper and a generous amount of sweetcorn.
Even though it freezes nicely, one of our favorite ways to use leftover pulled pork is to combine it with spoonfuls of succotash and wrap it up in a tortilla, which we bake in the oven until just the other side of warm.
