No-bread turkey clubs were a revelation to me when I first learned about them, and I prepared them almost exclusively with the same set of ingredients: mayonnaise or salad dressing; turkey; bacon; tomatoes; and avocado. Since then, I’ve been making AT LEAST one of them a week, every week, and they’ve gotten better and better each time. I’ll continue to refer to them as “no-bread turkey clubs,” but let’s be honest about what they are. The sandwich is essentially nothing more than a nice lettuce wrap wrapped sandwich.

One of the most appealing aspects of this no-bread sandwich recipe is that it can be prepared without the need of any additional instruments.

  • A piece of parchment paper, a cutting board, a sharp chefs knife, and a serrated knife

What ingredients do I need to make this keto turkey club?

The great thing about this low-carb sandwich recipe is that you can use practically anything that you would normally put in a regular sandwich as an ingredient. There are a few exceptions to this rule, though. Anything that is too wet will not work with ano bread turkey club, as I have discovered. As a result, stay away from things like chicken salad, tuna salad, and egg salad. I usually always use turkey lunch meat and bacon while making sandwiches. Then I switch up the sauce, opting for either honey mustard or ranch dressing.

By far and away, the crisp of the bacon is my favorite component of this sandwich.

But how do I roll it up this lettuce wrap!?

One of the most difficult parts of making these no-bread sandwiches is rolling them into a tight roll. I created a video to demonstrate how I utilize the parchment paper to assist me in rolling it up. To find out more, click on the video above. Basically, you will just layer all of your components on top of each other on a piece of parchment paper. Then, starting with the edge of the parchment that is closest to your body, begin to roll the parchment and contents together into a tight package.

Can I make this No Bread Turkey Club ahead of time?

You certainly can, but these no-bread sandwiches are better eaten right away. When I’m spending the entire day at home, I prefer to prepare these cookies. Remove the sauce and tomato from the recipe if you’re preparing it for work so that it doesn’t go soggy in your lunchbox.

Ingredients

  • 5- 6-romaine lettuce leaves
  • 4 pieces turkey lunch meat
  • 3 strips of fried bacon
  • A quarter-of-an-apple
  • 3 slices of tomato
  • Add a couple of tablespoons of your favorite sandwich spread if desired.
  1. Place a big plate or cutting board on top of a sheet of parchment paper
  2. Remove the romaine lettuce from the water and pat it dry. Afterwards, remove the stems from the individual pieces of lettuce — you may omit this step if you like, but I think that it rolls better without the stems
  3. Lay the lettuce out on the parchment paper in overlapping lines until you have a 10′′ by 8′′ square of lettuce to work with. Then sprinkle on your favorite sandwich spread — I typically go with ranch – and enjoy! Start with the lunch meat, then the bacon, then the tomatoes, and finally the avocado
  4. Repeat as necessary. Make use of the parchment paper to assist you in rolling the sandwich into a tight tube by folding the ends in as you roll. As you eat, slice the sandwich in half and fold the parchment paper down to the bottom.

However, we recommend that you exercise caution when picking your meats and that you choose items that are nitrite-free and low in sodium. The majority of deli meats include nitrites, a preservative that imparts the meats’ traditionally salty flavor and reddish color to the product.

Allow each slice to rest for approximately 5 minutes after being sprinkled with salt. Olive oil should be brushed on both sides of the eggplant slices. Using a skillet, cook the ingredients over high heat. As soon as the skillet is really hot, add the eggplant and sear on each side for about 2 minutes, or until the eggplant is browned. The eggplant should still be firm when you cut it. Allow for cooling once both sides have been seared. Place four slices of the eggplant on a flat surface and press down to flatten them. Each pizza should have one slice of ham on top of it, followed by one slice of salami and three pepperoni slices on each. Add lettuce, tomato, and banana peppers to the top of the sandwich. Drizzle the Italian dressing over the top of each serving. On top of the first eggplant slice, place a second eggplant slice. Serve
